I heard marilyn monroe loved having her feet kissed. If that is the case, I would say in the 50's, women were starting to be aware of that sort of thing... Although it has always existed. Also the trademark patent leather pumps and hosiery of the 20's - 50's was totally hot. Before the "womens movement", which took heels and hosiery as constrictive and sexual. I am sure that more than one person in those era's got all hot and bothered at the thought of female feet.

Did you also know that Cleopatra of Egypt, who died in 30 B.C. is said to have always painted her toenails and fingernails, using a mixture of crushed grape resin for color and reed sap for adhesion and gloss. I guess her favorite color was purple

The 60's. With the advent of the pill, women's liberation and the whole hippie movement, sex, sexual experimentation and sexual freedom became acceptable. Society kicked off it's closed toed grandmother shoes and embraced sandals, bare feet and took to it with a 'do whatever feels good' attitude.

Ummm...How bout the 2000's?(2000-2010) I could go through a list of how many movies/tv shows that show a 'foot scene' or mention something to do with feet. Not just Quentin Tarantino movies either

I agree with that 100%, and disagree with all the other answers. I don't think the term foot fetish was even uttered on TV during any time before the 90s. But the last decade was when the concept or idea of foot fetishism started to take a more prominent lead into the media.

I would have loved to have massaged Cleo's feet! I'd be her personal "foot slave!" Personally, I think that attraction to women's feet has been around for centuries. It's just that it's a little more open, now.

I think the awareness of the sensuality and allure of female feet has been around for a very long while.
I had heard a story about Paulette Goodard who was an actress back in old Hollywood. Supposedly back in the early 1930's she was competeing with other actresses for a role, when she went into the office of one of the big Studio Heads at either MGM or Paramount.
She had inside knowledge that this particular big shot had a thing for female feet. Paulette took off her shoes, sat back in the chair and plopped her bare feet on his desk.
My guess would be that she got the part in the desired movie.
