I honestyl was one of the first to go around sportin' an ipod my senior year back in the early part of 2002 when I graduated - of course they came out a few months prior, theh it was the 5GB model, and now I have the 60GB - it isn't the video one, though. I am just waiting fora 100GB or something bigger to come out on the market.

About 2 years ago I bought a 20GB MP3-player from Archos. It´s almost as good as an Ipod, very small/light and it was really cheap. I´m very satisfied with it....don`t think I´ll need an Ipod.
I am extremely serious about collecting and listening to music, so I'm pretty sure I won't run out of storage space any time soon. I currently have 1200 songs on mine.
I also uploaded some full length movies...and some foot fetish video clips too.
Plus, I use it as a traveling photography portfolio. I uploaded some of my favorite photos onto it to show potential models and customers.
Initially, I had no desire to own an iPod, but my wife bought it for me as a surprise. Now, I wouldn't want to be without one. It's so versatile and useful.

I have an iriver t30, 1gb flash, paid 30 bucks for it refurbished. It holds a day's worth of tunes and the battery lasts 30 hours of play in practice with volume around 6 or 7 (on a scale to 30). I can't carry all my music around obviously, but until they come out with a 500GB or 1TB ipod with an easily removable battery, I can't rationalize the expense, though the video option is appealing. The iriver's got a stereo input, but there is no DC bias on it for a condenser mic. I built a small stereo mic amp for it and it does a mean job of booting a concert.

I don't own any mp3 player, but I remember a guy I used to work with bought one of the very first ones available. He was so proud of it too and I thought it was the biggest waste of money at the time since it was new technlogy that was too expensive for what you got.
I don't remember the brand of player, but he spent $400 and it held 20 minutes worth of music on it. You know 7 top 40 pop songs or 1 song by Yes.
