I'm a serious amateur photographer building up my studio equipment roster. To all of you taking photos what type and brand of lights to you use? Thanks!

Smith-Victor, three lightstands with 500-watt tungsten bulbs. But the tungsten creates a terrible hue, that only a good image editing program can fix. I dropped the tungstens for GE Reveal lights, which are much better for photos.

Thanks for the response. I'm actually looking at Smith-Victor's SG-120 1000 watt light or possibly a Hedler or Mole HMI. I know most photographers use strobe...I just like continous lights. Thanks again!

Smith-Victor quartz-halogens work well. But they do get hot! Be prepared to sweat if your close enough to them.
