This was the second set shot on one ultra hot day last summer with Mindee. After doing her first set at the Water Wheel, we walked around the park, sweating bullets, trying to find a second location.
When we came upon a bridge, I looked down into the stream below and saw a really neat looking spot for our second shoot. Plus, I figured it would be a little cooler on the water. That didn't turn out to be much help, but oh well.
Once we got to the bottom of the small hill, we realized how hard it would be to shoot at this location. There were tons of rocks, but I wanted the bridge in the background. Most of the rocks were too small to have Mindee sit on and get those feet out in front of her.
We did finally find a few rocks, but the sun wasn't in the best of places. We shot anyhow and got some good results, although the color wasn't as strong as I would have liked. Did get in some awesome artistic shots at the end though.
Sometimes a great location or idea just doesn't pan out the way you want it to. When I found a location featuring an old water wheel, I immediately showed Mindee. She liked the location, so we decided to head out one afternoon last summer for some new sets.
The day we scheduled this shoot was beyond hot, not to mention humid. We had a small walk down to the water wheel and were both sweating our butts off.
I didn't realize by the photos I found of the water wheel online that the wheel itself was in a very dense area when it came to tree cover. The sun did shine through, but it was in patches, so the lighting wasn't what I wanted. I forced the issue and got quite a few blurry pictures for my efforts.
Regardless of the above, there were still quite a few great sole shots and poses in this set that I still loved. I'm sure all of Mindee's fans will too.
