While I often admire some of the Manga artwork, I just could never get into it. One of my models, Carlin, loves Battle Angel Alita though. She even dressed up as her this past Halloween. Just last night I tried watching the Witchblade TV series and was unable to get into it and fell asleep. I have read the Witchblade comic and it was vastly different.
Once the producers clamped down on the "free readers", the whole thing just kinda went into the toilet. Bleach used to be my favorite, and then it went into the Lost Substitute arc, and I lost interest.
Kinda sad, really, but that's how these things go.

If I had money, I would buy some of the translated manga right now.
I prefer manga over American comics, and I want to take inspiration from the "stereotypical manga" art style to possibly design and sell my own line of graphic novels.
As for the manga I own: Hunter x Hunter 1-12 YuYu Hakusho 1-2 Black Cat 1-10 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 1-2 Buso Renkin 1-8 Hoshin Engi 1-2 Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo The Best of Pokemon Adventures: Red Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team Dr. Slump 1-9 Death Note 1-7 D.Gray-man 1-6 Onegai Teacher 1-2 Saikano 1-4

At first I had trouble getting into them also, but then as the story goes on, things get more interesting, and before you know it you get hooked.

Yeah I know, most of my friends stopped reading it also, but not me! You should continue reading after a few months so you wont have to wait like me.

That's AWESOME! I also thought about making my own manga, but I'm not the best artist. Good luck to you! I have a small collection of manga books, but now I read all my manga online at http://www.mangabit.com/Posts: 131 | Registered: Aug 2009

Thanks, but that's just a pipe dream of mine's at this point. I can't draw nearly good enough to try to make a career of it. At least, not yet. Of course, I could always get someone to draw it for me.
