The author’s female friend sounds like way more of a freak/pervert and someone who suffers from more issues and insecurities than the majority of guys who simply appreciate nice feet on a female. Talk about a vacuous mind.
Interesting article, but personally, I don’t need confirmation from an article, or anyone else for that matter, that it’s “ok” for me to like what I like.

I don't think society as a whole views eating ass as being more "normal" than liking feet. I think in this particular case, the author's female friend is just extremely insecure and since having her ass eaten out is her kink, she doesn't want to think of herself as being weird or abnormal. In her vapid mind, of course whatever she likes is completely normal, it's YOU who is the weird one. So her defense mechanism was to make it seem like liking feet is way more gross than eating ass. As evidenced by her not being able to explain how liking feet is any more gross than eating ass (if anything it's less), but instead going for the intellectually shallow response of "it just is" that one usually gives when you have utterly nothing of substance to say.
I personally think foot fetish is a bit more mainstream now than it has been in the past, but I think the majority of females just view feet as being feet and have never heard of a foot fetish before. You might get a confused reaction when you tell someone you like feet, but I think if you tell someone that you like to eat ass, you're going to get a grossed out reaction almost every time.
Regarding a foot fetish parade, I personally don't think I'd be an advocate of that. My sentiments on that are the same when it comes to a foot fetish pride flag, something that someone here once brought up before. For me, whenever I think of adjectives to describe me as a person, "foot fetishist" isn't the first one at the top of the list to label myself so that way I can feel like I belong to a certain group. I personally feel like first and foremost ascribing a label like that on yourself to identify yourself just puts you into a box to where you're essentially just a number in that box.
Personally, I don't feel like I need to demand the approval of others and demand that they accept me so that way it makes me feel "normal", and that all of my issues will just magically go away if people only would just go along with my charade.
I'm a guy who just happens to have a penchant for female feet. It doesn't define who I am.

I was embarrassed about my foot fetish as a young boy growing up in the 1980s. In those day, you really wanted to belong and not be different which is the plot of every single John Hughes movie! I realized long ago that my foot/nylon kink is reltively mild by today's standards and I dont think I'm perverted in any way.
Now, I do think that society as a whole still thinks of foot guys in a negative light and unfortunately there is some truth to the stereotypes. Foot guys are wormy, creepy guys who are not interested in the woman as a person but only her feet. This is how we are portrayed in every TV show and movie and how most women would view us foot guys. What is funny though is that a woman could say that a guy with a foot fetish is pervy and disgusting but if she went on a blind date and the guy was a Ryan Gosseling look a like who stated something like "I like girls with cute feet" I guarantee before their next date she would get a pedicure. If the guy was hot she would not have a problem with it, but if the buy was that wormy, creepy character that we've been led to believe all foot guys are, it would be disgusting. I think those old stereotypes are still giving us all a bad name. I don't need to wave a flag to say I'm a proud foot fetishist, but I am not embarrassed by my fetish either.

people take their young children to watch this and celebrate it, probably the same parents that tell their kids to cover their eyes is boobs are shown on tv

Yeah, thanks. But it will change nothing for me. Society is as it is as someone said. And i dont have to have those that disapprove of my sexual preferences approval. It´s them that have got to change i think, not me. I take it easy with my fantasies and doesnt attack or provoke women with it. What´s the harm. The only thing that could get harmed is my pride and my wallet and they´re both fine i think...(Where the hell is my wallet).
Edit: And since no one EVER tells me on any social media to stop it with my never ending joking i tell myself that now. I dont know why though, if i am intimidating or something, if i give that impression. But i wont start with some private Joker routine here now. God forbid.
