I've proclaimed my disdain for long toenails on this forum before, that hasn't changed, I still hate them. What's more is when I click on a video of what looks like a great pair of soles and the nails are long enough that I can see them from the sole side, it's an instant turnoff. I know it's just personal preference but I strongly prefer nails to be trimmed close with no over hanging nail at all. How do the rest of you guys feel? And I really don't care if they're painted or not.

I feel about the same but my ire wouldn't rise to "disdain". If I had a pair of soles in my face and I saw the toenails hanging over, I'd probably just go with the flow. Then maybe afterwards let her scratch my back with them.

Nails are the only part of the tops of the feet that I really show any interest in.
I usually like full nail beds where the tips of the nails have a slightly roundish tip that comes just to the edge of the toe, before it would start to over hang. I don't prefer extremely short nails, to where the nail on the pinky toe is barely even there.
These two gals, Penelope and Aria respectively, from the defunct site CaliforniaFootExchange, serve as good examples to what I'm referring to:
I like natural nails if they are well kept, and if they're painted, I'm generally not a fan of solid red nail polish for some reason.

For me painted nails are the best, especially if they are red or black. But according to the topic I agree with Little5, long toenails are gross, just imagine how they would look without nail polish.

Long nails are my favorite. I cannot stand short nails. I kinda don't like them too long either, but the tips should be just barely longer than the skin and painted. I love big, beautiful long nailbeds and long nails. No short stuff for me.

If the nail shows past the toes when I’m look straight at the bottoms of the feet, there’s a problem. I like a bit of nail so they’re not too short, but no way can I enjoy seeing feet with nails too long.

Agreed, too long and they start to remind me of bamboo or something for some reason. And yes to paint. Especially if the fingernails are painted as well.

Not a fan of too-long nails either, but they're not necessarily a deal breaker. Unless they look long enough to scratch my back from across the room or something. I prefer them trimmed or short.

I'd prefer they don't pass the toes. I also prefer natural to painted which doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of people. Painted nails aren't a total turn off, but I feel there's a bunch of colors that are just really odd looking.
