Well guys, several months after closing my site is beginning to give me the perspective I didn’t have before. Is it just me, or are “pure” foot fetish sites dying out? By pure I mean just basic foot fetish content, without foot jobs, hardcore sex, etc. I think that many of us in the foot fetish community have lost our way in the relentless pursuit of the almighty dollar. Don’t get me wrong, you guys know that I’m no prude, and that I enjoy kinky sex as well as the next guy, including foot jobs, but when I started my site, I wanted it to be about the essence of foot fetishism, because in my view, conventional porn can be easily found on the web.
Yeah, I know, things change, blah, blah, blah – but I just miss when I would spend an afternoon on my belly, crawling and chasing Grace from behind, feverishly sniffing, licking and photographing her awesome, fever inducing soles. Or doing the same in Fancy’s kitchen, panting, and scraping my knees, just to get those floor level shots. These two shots are the product of those amazing, draining sessions:
I have been told that I could have made much more money by including harder content, but I’m not sure that’s true. Feet Fair was always a place where I guy could go and get his fix of great feet, without getting into a hard core porn site, and if I had to do it again, I wouldn’t change a thing.

I think sites for foot purists have essentially gone the way of the DoDo bird. Like many of us I like a little extra, but the extra stuff tends to dominate the theme these days.

Your post is a very interesting one, Adam! Besides offering a peek into the.. spiciest never-before-seen corners of your production (many thanks for sharing! ), it also provides some food for thought about the evolution of the "foot fetish industry".
Some modest reflections from my very narrow angle, as I have always been active in the "barefooting / dirty feet fetish" niche only. I believe that there is still a significant number of die-hard "non-porn" foot enthusiasts. When I decided to become a vendor/webmaster (after years as a footographer supplying stuff to paysites run by other guys), I got to the conclusion that it was wiser to have TWO distinct paysites: a non-nude one, and a nude/erotic/(porn?) one. Even if my own BAREFOOT NUDITY features no boy/girl hardcore (only lesbian sex, solo erotica, explicit nudity & outdoor exhibitionism), many dudes (especially on City Feet Forum) see me as.. the villain who brought "porn" to the barefooting/dirty feet fetish niche. In nearly four years online, I have seen that there are basically three groups of customers: 1) true foot fetishists, who would NEVER subscribe to a site featuring nudity; 2) people who are into good ol' tits, ass & pussy as much as they are into feet (or who tolerate dirty feet if they come with a naked spread-eagled hottie attached ) 3) "crossover" dudes who like both nude and non-nude stuff.. provided that plenty of bare dirty feet are in sight! The split between these 3 groups among my membership has varied remarkably over time. I would not say that BAREFOOT NUDITY profits are necessarily better than BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS ones. Sure, I have set higher subscription fees to the nude site, but you should never forget that also modelling fees for nude stuff are much higher! Over the years, I have had several non-nude models crossing the Rubicon to get heftier fees by showing off more than their feetsies. After these moves, I may win new subscribers to BAREFOOT NUDITY, but I may also lose subscribers to BAREFOOT URBAN GIRLS: some true foot fetishists go berserk when former "good girl" barefooting beauties "go porn"! I would not say that "foot porn" is the main factor behind the decline of "old-style" foot fetish paysites.. IMMO, it's the exploding number of "DIY footographers" posting FOR FREE kazillions of (usually crappy, but not necessarily so) foot-themed pictures EVERYWHERE ON THE WEB (from Facebook to this very forum).. which will slowly kill most (all?) foot-themed paysites. Let's face it.. foot fetishism is getting mainstream. There are female feet everywhere on the web. Why should a chap bother subscribing to a foot fetish paysite? Only the relatively few affluent ones seeking for quality stuff are still willing to do so. I run both paysites of mine as a self-financing hobby. I could NEVER make a living on them.

I think you're right - the BHE network, for instance, is one of the last holdouts of pure foot sites, or at least that's how it feels to me, now I think about it. However, I think a lot of the pure foot content has moved to clip sites, so some of the decline you're seeing might actually just be because of the migration of the foot fetish industry toward pay-per-clip sites. Just a guess.

It was only the other day that I was thinking the exact same thing! I believe, too, that the big bad money monster has had a massive effect on how foot fetish sites have evolved. Demand may have something to do with it and let's face it, for those looking to make a pretty penny are going to take things to the next level to keep the punters hooked!! It's kind of sad to see the 'pure' foot fetish sites dwindle but I guess that's how things are evolving

When I first discovered the net was a haven for feet pics when I was younger, that was mostly all you could find. I craved more the actual experience to witness that I myself desired. In come all these videos now of just about anything feet related you can find.
While I can speak for everyone, I prefer to see these because I imagine myself being the dude enjoying the girl. At this point, pics are mostly static to me and while I can enjoy them, I typically don't get "off" on them like I used to in my youngin days. Now it's all video and it must involve worship of some kind.

Some of us just do our thing still. If you're passionate about it, know your budget and effort put into the site, you can do it comfortably. Trying to compete with your major adult companies would probably be unwise, even if you did the same content. Just do you and know your limits and audience.

Everyone has made a good point, and a I think the lesson here is that there's more than one numerous reasons why "vanilla" foot fetish site are on the wane, and that's just the natural order of things, I suppose.
