LOL... If you're referring to "Soul Man" as made popular by John Belushi & Dan Akroyd in The Blues Brothers (1980), yes indeed, David Porter & Isaac Hayes were indeed foot fetishists and wrote the song about their zealous passion for female soles. Okay perhaps not, but it certainly lends itself to interpretation.

The original Soul Man was recorded by Sam & Dave back in 1967. Hey, if you want a song to be about soles, go ahead listen to it that way!

Another question regarding lyrics with possible interpretations of feet - Ludacris (in the song 'Yeah' with Usher and Lil' Jon) Ludacris mentions "out 'em on Foot Patrol." Is he relating to the website in this song???

punkluvsfeet I know what you mean though, its kinda like the mind can twist a song around and we make it seem like it has some thing to do with feet, there use to be a song my mind twisted around, back in my high school days,I dont remember the name of the song, but I still remember some of the words to it,it goes some thing like this: though enough, work 12 hrs a week just so that I can come home and kiss your cheek.
Any body know that song? any ways the mind made it sound like feet instead of cheek.

That's most likely "Tuff Enuff," by The Fabulous Thunderbirds, circa 1988. The lyric goes:
"I would work 24 hours, 7 days a week "Just so I can come home and "Kiss your cheek"
The Fabulous Thunderbirds, by the way, also did a remake of "Wrap It Up," which was written -- you guessed it -- by Sam and Dave.

Does anyone know what Ludacris refers to when he says 'foot patrol' in the song with Usher, 'yeah' There's also a footpatrol website that isn't foot related. Just wanna see if anyone knows anything on this.

I believe that line is:
I left the Jag and I took the Rolls, If they ain't cutting then I put them on foot patrol
I'm not sure what "cutting" means in that context but I interpret those lines to mean that if the gals aren't hot enough then he'll just boot 'em out of the car and they can walk instead. I don't suspect that his use of "foot patrol" in that line has anything to do with his foot fetish, but with Ludacris you never know! hehe

You are all over it, CJ. The hotties have to make the cut (i.e. attitude, down with the program or down for the cause of the night ) and if they don't measure up, get the steppin' (out of the car).
