Ten years later could anyone define what has changed, is unchanged about the foot fetish in the last ten years. What aspects about our fetish are appropriate now that were not back then. Also, where will this lead the 'foot fetish' into 2016???
-------------------- If feet are your bottom line, you're gonna get trampled...if women are your bottom line, you're gonna get lovestruck!
The names will change but the story remains the same. I don't think the fetish itself has changed.
The obvious major change is the amount of easily accessable material on the Internet (photos, videos, stories, discussions, more photos and videos, and THOUSANDS of websites). The ability to broadcast and receive information in any form has boomed.
I most definitely have changed in the past 10 years in reference to my fetishes. The ability to communicate with people from all over the world has been the most helpful tool in overcoming denial or embarrassment.
So I don't think there has been a change in the fetish itself, but there has been a change in the ability to share and broadcast it.

Good topic! If you think about how many females in the world have had their feet photographed since 1996 {includes ALL foot websites, and willing women of course} you would think that would have an impact on today's acceptance of our fetish and it is more accepted today by some degree than 10 years ago for sure.Just think of the 10's of thousands of girls and how it has opened their mind to it after the photo shoots.Another thing is kinda like Bondo mentioned it wasn't as readily accessible back then, alot of big sites were just starting out and Leg Show Magazine had a stronghold on the industry..now they are literally no competition from the specialized FEET websites one can visit to suit his or her needs now.

Again, like Bondo said, the fetish itself is still the same. It's the accessibility that has grown by leaps and bounds. Ironically enough, as Bondo eluded to, this easy accessibility I think has helped those of us with a foot fetish realize that we're not all alone with some "affliction" and that there are others out there who also share the love of the female foot. This forum is a great example of that. By having an outlet like this where we can each bring up topics like this and just talk openly about something that most of us have a real passion for is something that was virtually unheard of 10 years ago. I think it can only help the cause. Without such online accessibility, there would be no contributions by all the great people here who continually post great pictures, from professional foot fetish websites to amateur photos of guys showing pictures of their girlfriends' or wives' or friends' feet. I'm sure that their acknowledgement of having a foot fetish has possibly sparked a curious interest in a few cases where females might have come on here to lurk, just to see what it's all about. I truly admire a guy like Ben (from girlswithfeet) who puts himself out there continuously. Not only has he given us pictures of some great women, but some of them have even taken the time to check out Wu's and have posted here and interacted in this forum. I'm sure that they realize that, yeah, maybe having a foot fetish might be unique. However, it's really tame compared to a lot of stuff that's out there and, also, anyone looking at this forum, from someone on the "outside" looking in, can see that a lot of us are just plain normal folks who are not really that much different from other people. I think that can only help in the long run as far as gaining any acceptability goes.

Other than accessibility online and the advent of this forum, with all the inherent benefits of being able to share thoughts etc here at this forum and the resultant friendships we have formed as a result of this forum, I can't see that much has changed within Foot Fetish per se.
The media still run their little "off the wall" stories about nutters who do criminal or wacky things and who just happen to have a foot fetish which takes up most of the column-inches of the story (see the Wal-Mart post - prime example, or the post about the burglar who had a foot fetish), hence tar us all with the same brush - weird people who will stop at nothing to get their 'fix'.
Some well-known celebrities have admitted their fetish, but I don't perceive the fetish to be any more accepted now than it was then, notwithstanding the QTs of this world bringing it to the public domain, who, let's face it, have been derided for doing so - remember the Tarantino "feet of the year" competition on the chat show (Trisha, I think)?.
The social context within which foot fetish exists has changed somewhat from the status quo in 1995. Perhaps the biggest change surrounds the issue of discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation: homsexuality is now generally accepted in the UK - the government legislated against gay-bashing and abolished the infamous Section 28, thereby forcing schools via sex ed classes to teach kids at primary level (for the US that's grades 3-6 inclusive) about sexual orientation and that there was nothing wrong with being gay. Additionally, sex is now widely portrayed on TV with reality shows gaining massive audiences with promises of sexual activity (Big Brother, Love Island, etc), whereas in 1995 programmes actively encouraging sex were not widely broadcast.
I think people's overall attitude to what I would call 'niche' proclivities (swinger, BD/SM etc) have softened somewhat but I think the issue of foot fetish is still generally adjectivised by the UK population (I can't speak for other countries) negatively and couched in terms of 'weirdness'. For this reason, foot fetish has largely remained underground. After all, most men will freely admit to looking at pornographic images online or in magazines, but will not elaborate within their social group and most certainly will not elaborate as regards overtly stating they possess foot-porn - I certainly don't, other than to my g/f or to those I know extremely well and whom I can trust to keep the fact to themselves.
People's attitude to foot fetish has remained generally unchanged; most of us foot fetishists, I suspect, still keep their fetish to themselves. This is probably why the online presence of foot-related material has boomed (foot fetish is the biggest niche market for internet-porn), so consequently become eaiser to access, whilst the number of foot fetishists actively engaged in online foot-related activities has increased dramatically in the last 10 years.
But in the material world, although the social context has changed, people's attitude to foot fetish will take a long time to catch up, not only to us and our perception of it, but to the views and attitudes of those members of society fortunate enough to have a completely open mind about foot fetish, and who are even willing to 'suck it and see'. Maybe by 2016 foot fetish will be widely accepted and there will be legislation and social morals preventing discrimination or negativity towards the activity, but I wouldn't stake my mortgage on it.
As a final thought, I wonder if the spread of AIDS across the world will have an impact on the acceptability of foot fetish, bearing in mind that foot fetish does not involve the transferral of potentially HIV+ bodily fluids, and is therefore by definition a negligible risk activity?

Some great posts so far- As mentioned visual accessability both on the net AND in person has changed dramatically.
Foot and nail care have blossomed greatly, Footwear has become increasingly trendy. Flip-flops (and sandals to some degree) have reached an unbelivable "foothold" (sorry) in society. Girls and women, whether intentional or not, wearing them almost all the time and every place. Showing your feet is an "in" thing to do.
And though as mentioned, the fetish is still frequently publicly ridiculed and many foot-guys still hide in the shadows, I think things are slowly changing in our favor, if for no other reason than general awareness, espeically through the media.
My predicition for the future? I think 2016 is going to be even better for us foot-guys.

I think that in the past 10 years(although I was only 10 and also thought I was the only one too) that society in general has become more open-minded ranging from same-sex marriage to violence/sex on TV. So I think that in the past decade that it is becoming increasingly easier for the average foot guy to "come out" about his love for feet than it was 11 years ago. And if for some reason the lady in question finds it freaky or weird or just plain disgusting and feels the need to embarrass or put down the guy that is telling her then she needs to grow up and mature. Simple as that, I mean why is it that we need to constantly try and find ways to tell the girl we are interested in that we love feet, when all we SHOULD have to do is just say I want to suck your toes or what have you. I guess you could say I am writing this in bitterness because I am just sick of how we as a group are stereotyped as freaks because some dumb fuck didnt take his pills one day and hides under some lady's car and licks her foot. It's just not fair is all I'm saying, I mean guys "accidentaly" grope a girl's ass on the bus or elevator and you dont see that gettin media attention, guarantee you if he bent down to pick up his pen that he dropped and "accidentally" groped her foot then he is a freak. Thanks for letting me vent...but moral of the story is that things are getting better for us,and are only going to get better.

I know it's getting better for us foot guys cause these ladies hear about it on TV. (whether ridiculed or not) And when they know someone that has the fetish, they wanna ask questions. I educate the people.

I have the following hypothesis: (and take it with a great grain of salt and humour). The Chinese Intelligence Services have inundated the Western World (especially the US) with foot fetish information and porn. They themselves, who started the whole foot fetish thing with bound feet have discovered how close the foot centers in the brain are to the sex centers. Thus, this spike in foot fetish interest in the last ten years. The goal: to subvert western minds with a fetish so potent that secrets would land on their laps with very little effort in exchange for foot sex and other foot fetish enticements. Far fetched? Yes. Fiction? Probably. The kernel of a future fiction novel?
