This is an adventure involving the private eye Barefoot Jenny that I wrote. It was a boring period for me--no new or currant cases going on. So I decided to try an experiment; I tried to open my combination safe with my feet! I had seen it done in a movie once, and had always wanted to try it. But it was much harder than it seemed. I tried sitting in a chair, then sitting on the floor. I tried using both feet, then just one. One big problem was that I couldn't see the numbers on the lock, very well. "Hi, Jenny," a voice said. "That looks kinky!" I turned around. A girlfriend had entered the room. "Oh, hi, Marshia." I suppose you're wondering what I'm doing." "I know. But you're doing it all wrong." "I am?" "Here, let me show you." She sat down and took her shoes and socks off. "You've done this before?" "I'm an FBI agent; I'm trained in all kinds of things!" "OK, the combination is--" "--You don't have to tell me." Barefooted, she lied down on the floor where I was. Then she carefully placed her toes in the center of the wheel. Then she turned it slowly, listenning for the clicks. In a couple minutes, she had it openned! I hugged her. "That was incredible, honey! Have you ever done it in a real situation?" "Once. I ruined a $20 pair of hose, in the process!" I giggled. "Horrors!" We talked a bit, then she put her shoes on and left.
