Podophilia is not a common word and could be easlily be mistaken for pedophilia which is a common word in the media... You tell someone your a "podophiliac" and you could end up in a coma

I've thought about that too. A long time ago someone posted about their friend staring at a little kids feet and was asking if that makes him a pedophile. I noticed it then. But I've never heard someone say podophile. Not that it doesn't work.

Come to think of it, I don't like the word 'philia' or 'phile' at the end of any word. Makes it sound like an obsession. But when it's put on the front like 'Philanthropy' or 'Philosophy' it's cool.

I never use the word and I've never heard anyone else use it. IMHO it's probably not a word that's used much outside the psychological community.

exactly, i've always heard it called a foot fetish. or i know a lady at work, who knows i like feet including her own, that calls it feet fetish instead of foot fetish.
