Alright, Quentin Tarantino's doing a new movie and we'll say one of the characters has a brief role where he goes on the internet and navigates thru Wu's shown from afar. I think that would strike total curiosity of foot fetishes and haha membership would be like thousands and thousands in opening week for the flick! What do you all think??

I suspect it would gather a lot of people who would masquerade as fetishists to get their jollies at our expense. However, A&F, I also think that you're right that there would be a bunch of fetishists out there that would figure out that they're not alone and that there was a place to meet kindred spirits. Further thought makes me think that a lot of people would believe that it was a fictional site similar to the 555 prefix for all telephone numbers.

if foot fetishism were tied to internet surfing behavior then i'd say this could be foot fetish's big break.
but foot fetishism is more tied to people's attractions moreso than their net browsing behaviors, so I would say quentin is better at giving us the "big break out" by reflecting us in his movies in a positive light.
in fact, i'd say that if he reflects a foot fetish character by having him surfing the net for footy porn, then that would make us seem even more creepy, LOL

I think it depends on the scenario...two guys are about to go out for a party. One of them is still seated at his computer and the other is like "hey let's get goin man...." he comes over to the computer "dude are you surfin porn?" He comes over you're lookin at a chick's feet in one image....a second shows two girls suckin on each others toes..."okay dude that's hot but we gotta party to go to." Something along those lines will BOOST the fetish.

Impressions most definitely could change based on the scenario, and many people believe what they see in movies or on TV, so yeah, even something as unreal as a mangey dog covered in wool might still pass for sheep.
Would really depend on how believable he could make it, and as i mentioned, movies viewers are just waiting to fall for something (luckily for the average footy porn surfer who doesn't go to parties, LOL!)

Don't get me wrong I think Tarantino is the man but he might not be the best spokesperson since many people i know think he is a freak or strange. Maybe someone like Clooney or Matt Damon or some really straight up actor doing it would be better. Or maybe even putting them in a chick flick. Or a Judd Apatow movie with the group of guys he hangs with.

I don't think we should try and make mainstream culture out of foot fetish. It's like a gift that makes you able to enjoy a broader orientated and much more exciting sexlife than a person without a fetish. The fact that we're a sort of subculture gives it an extra twist for me.
I say don't make it mainstream/trendy, lets keep it special! Anyway, like somebody already said, Quentin is hardly likely to get us out of obscurity as a lot of people think he's a freak.

I completely agree, and even if foot fetish is made 'mainstream' that doesn't mean everyone will accept it. Imagine if something like a peeing fetish was made 'mainstream' lol, would you turn around and think it's completely fine?
I wouldn't mind if foot fetish was mainstream but I also don't care that it's not!
