Here we go, again! Thanks to all of you who voted on the last ones.
We continue with the Double-Elimination format of this tournament. For each group, the girls who won their matches last week will face each other in what will be called the "Qualifying Match," while the two losers face each other in an "Elimination Match." The girl who wins the qualifying match will automatically advance into the semi-finals with a 2-0 record, while she waits for the second girl to advance out of her group. The loser of that match still has a chance to advance into the semi's. In the Elimination match, however, the winner still has a chance to advance. The loser will be eliminated (because by that time she would've lost twice in this round).

The two matches in Studio 1 are rematches from the first round of the tournament, while the matches in Studio 2 are brand new. Those girls are facing each other for the first time ever.

For the first studio, Monroe finds herself in there against Bette Paige. Just like the last time those two met, this match will determine who will guarantee herself a spot for the following round. If Monroe really wants to replenish her legacy and redefine her stance as an everlasting figure in Hollywood and Fame history, this win can really set that tone. She lost to Page last time and now seeks to turn the tides in her favor.

Garbo finds herself in unfamiliar territory for the first time, as she is now having to face adversity. Last week was her first loss in this tournament and is now in the brink of elimination. As foot_fashion_industry pointed out a few weeks back, Greta seemed like someone who people were sort of taking for granted. She won her first two matches without people making much of a fuss about it. Now that she's in a situation where is really do or die, we'll see if she can make an example of Rita Hayworth once again. One of these two could really set some eyes open should one of them make it as far as the semi-finals. That's when the world will really set its focus on the type of ladies we will be dealing with. If one of them make it that far, she will bring with her a immense amount of quality class and integrity. Those two have set the tone for the wild circus and freak show that Hollywood has turned out to be in the present day and age. Each one of those two will really love nothing more than to remind, and try to redefine, what the standards of being a lady really encompasses.

----

In Studio 2, Ann Margaret is against Linda Ronstadt. I feel as if Ann deserves more credit than what anyone is willing to pay attention to.

But the match that has been waiting in the makings is Farrah Fawcett vs. Raquel Welch. These two are undefeated and I expect this to be the high-profile match of the week. Both women have made the competition look easy to get by, gathering a lot of votes the way Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, and Megan Fox have when the original version of the modern-day Fashionistas when it ran its course during the first half of the year.

Now Fawcett and Welch are finally in there against and I would be shocked if one of them wins by a large margin this week. The girl that wins that match can pretty much put a stamp on herself as a head-on favorite to win this whole tournament. Both women attracted too much attention and arousal during their times at the peak. We will help decide which one of them can leave a more lasting impression even 30-40 years later.

Great job, National, when trying to give a synopsis of what some of these girls meant to the many people they influenced over the years. And thanks for those Ann Margaret pictures. I especially loved the first picture and that last portrait.

Pictures are worth a thousand words.

And you're right: Raquel Welch and Farrah Fawcett is a classic in the making. That was the hardest match for me to decide on.

While the voters make up their minds about who to vote for, let's go to a commercial break. This is a Pepsi commercial from the 1960s (the Raquel Welch and Ann Margaret times), another piece that will add nicely to this contest. It gives a minute to reflect on how times were different back then. After that commercial we can return to voting polls.

P.S. It should be reminded (again) of when the polls closes. Your votes will be accepted for another 19 hours.

This sounds like a cool idea. I bet these ladies would've loved to fly with PanAm if we reversed time.

I voted for Monroe, Garbo, Welch, and Ann "Margrock".

I'm really very surprised at Greta's popularity! She is a true classic. Alas, not a whole lot of barefoot photos of her exist.

Linda Ronstadt and Rita Hayworth have been eliminated from the contest for having lost twice in this round. Both have been pleasing aspects to this game and it was a pleasure to see both of them grace us with their beautiful appeal once again for the purpose of serving the present generation a look back of how they rose to prominence. But the voters have spoken. They don't think both of these women are fit to even advance into the semi-finals of this contest.

----

We are now down to six women. The winners of the Qualification Matches WILL advance into the semi-finals where they will wait for two more girls to join them in the continued search of which classic diamond deserves to be recognized more than the others.

Marilyn Monroe is the champion of Studio 1. In her match this week, she got back at Bettie Page who defeated her in the first round of this contest. This is Bettie's first loss in the competition and finds herself in a vulnerable position as she has her back up against the wall in preparation for next week's match in where the losers will be eliminated. Monroe, with her win, is now back on the map as one of the favorites to win the whole thing and has now re-established herself as a threat as to why her legacy is still a vital role in what it means to be a Sex Symbol that will forever transcend the annals of time.

Congrats to Marilyn Monroe for advancing into the semis!

In a great match this week saw Farrah Fawcett facing Raquel Welch for the first time ever. Being how that match was decided by one vote, it can only mean that we do not have a clear favorite between those two. This is still exciting news because should Raquel reach the semis, she will still be a head-on favorite to win the whole thing. Both women basically dominated the competition before finally going head-to-head to see what was really up between those two and who the voters really favor when they were forced to see each other. Even though that match was decided by one vote, it was enough to put Fawcett in the semis, Welch in the brink of elimination. I think if Raquel makes the semis, her match will go right down to the wire. Until then, I want to congratulate Farrach for becoming the champion of Studio 2.

I promise to show better pictures of Monroe and maybe those of Farrah being that they will get next week off.

I think it was foot_fashion_industry who said weeks earlier that Greta Garbo was going to be the one that everyone was going to sleep on. So far, he's proving himself right. He predicted that Greta was going to do better than what people would expect and now she's one match away from advancing to the semis. The following is not a foot shot, but one can certainly understand why she is (or was) beautiful.

Voting resumes Tuesday with the final matches to determine who will join Farrah and Monroe in the semis.

That commercial was a great touch to the game. It made me wish what it would've been like to go back in to to relive the 1960s. Things were more simple when you compare to how things are today where everything is more up-to-speed than ever before. I think it's because the fact that things were not fast paced way back then can explain why these women are classic. Watching these commercials and their movies makes you pay more attention to them. An analogy to this is how people take extra, extra care of their cars that are decades old or something like that.

But, yeah, it was I who made mention to the comment about how I think people are taking Greta Garbo for granted. That portrait National showed of Greta really shows her essence.

Wouldn't it be something if she were to make the semi's?

After reading National's last comment, I have the reasons to believe that things will get that much more interesting with the women that remain. With a martini in my hand, I would like to give a toast to Greta Garbo for her bid to make it to the semi's. I was one of those who voted for her. I think the reason that people are not paying much attention to her is because she was famous way before any of the other women in this contest. Being that she's all the way back there in time, people will more likely forget about them as opposed to those who became famous generations later. But Greta surprises me a bit. Though I am in love with her, I'm also did not think enough people would vote for her to get this far. Beautiful picture of her, by the way.

As far as Raquel Welch goes, I expect her to come back with a vengeance. Raquel is way too hot to lose twice in a row. She's another one who I'll share martini's with.

With Monroe back in business, this contest is turning out to be very, very solid. It will become very tough for the people to decide who they ultimately like. I know who I like. It's just a question as to who the masses prefer.
