For what seems like forever, the ads on the side of my facebook page include a 'Gout Study' ad, with a hideous pair of what looks like male feet. Does this come from my web browsing history? Because I don't do google searches for anything foot related anymore, as all of my foot sites are bookmarked. Could it be my Youtube searches, which is now owned by Google?? Among the other ads are for 'Alcohol and recovery' because I do have a lot of statuses about drinking, and also one on 'Singles and Online dating' which I still do occasionally also (but have never mentioned on facebook). Just how exactly do those ads work?

Google owns YouTube. The ads are alcso based on your profile info. I get military and fraternity ads

Now that u mention it, I haven't seen an ad on facebook or youtube since I've installed the adblocker. I forgot which one it is but works like a charm! No more ads at the beginning of youtube vids. I was wondering how come no ads showed on fb. Only suggested friends and "other friends liked". I thought it was a profile thing I opted out of via privacy options (and still might be).
