Okay, this topic is more for those of you who either dab in photography or run a web site. I'm probably going to say one that doesn't feature foot sex as that will just get really strange. But here is my question.
Would you shoot photos of a relative for your site?
The reason I ask this is because it came up in a topic of conversation at work the other day. I don't remember exactly how I got to this story, but I told a coworker that years ago, before I ever ran Soles of Silk, one of my cousins said she really liked my photography and asked if her feet were cute enough to be in my photos. Now, without sounding like someone into incest, my cousin is cute. She's a few years older than me, but I'm sure she'd be popular if I had her on Soles of Silk. I kind of laughed it off because I didn't know what to say at the time, and just told her that her feet are cute. Being my cousin I wasn't into her feet like that, but yeah, you guys would.
Anyhow, now that I run Soles of Silk my coworker asked if she's ever asked to pose for me now. I told her that she doesn't know about Soles of Silk. She knew about my old freebie site that also had my artwork on it back in college. So then the coworker asked me if I'd shoot her, if she did know. And I honestly just don't know. I'm not asking her either, as she has a pretty high profile type job. But I'm curious to know what you other photographers/webmaster think just as a topic of conversation. Not that I'm using this as whether I would, just rather, would you?

I have and she is on my site (and no I won't divulge who it is either), but they aren't "blood" relatives. Only through marriage. If it's any closer than that, expect it to backfire on you somehow. Unless, you lie and tell them you're shooting stock photography for a pedicure shop or carpet warehouse lol.

For me it would depend on how much the rest of my family knew about my foot fetish and related activities.
If I was working it on the down low, then, no, I probably wouldn't for fear of being outed. If I didn't care who knew, then sure I would.(assuming I liked her feet).

My personal answer is, absolutely not. I know its a double standard. Its ok for me to get "excited" from seeing someone else's mother, aunt, sister, niece, or cousin. But to enable others get "excited" over those same relatives of mine is not an option I will condone.
As men, think of how some of us had/have a womanizing friend. Heck, some of us engaged in the womanizing right along with that friend. We are all for his escapades, and hearing him regale about them. But the moment he wants to pursue a female relative we know, especially one we care about--all bets are off. When he asks to set him up with [our relative], we tell him NO! And if [our relative] wants to hook up with him, we try our hardest to warn her to stay away from him.

I see all your points here. For me, many know I have the fetish. Never cared if people knew since I was in college. Had a lot of artwork using it as a theme, so it was no big secret. The family doesn't really know about the site though.
As for being protective, I never had a sister, so I can't comment on it. I am not terribly close with my cousins, but I see why someone would be protective of theirs. I kind of get that way with my models as most are friends. When I get the emails asking me to hook the sender up with them for footjobs, sessions, dates, etc. I always get a little irritated. I've told people I'm not the girls' pimp, so don't ask that of me. But I don't think I'd care if my cousin was comfortable enough to pose what the people looking at the pictures would be thinking.
My question was more or less about being there to take the pictures of your relative flashing her feet. I know some sites have had sister duos on them with the photographer being one of the girl's husbands. It might be different with girls as I've had a lot want to do shoots with their cousins, sisters, and had some suggestions of their mothers posing too (Mindee's and Marcy's). The moms never panned out. LOL
So yeah, I meant more along the lines of a relative showing her feet to you to take the pictures and not the response to them.

I think it's fine if the consequences are understood and accepted by the family member. Guys will be guys, but if she's fine with it, I'm also fine with it.
If my sister/cousin said, "I want to be a nude camgirl, can you help?" I would have my reservations, but I also understand that her career path isn't my decision. I probably would help out of love.
