Here is one all of you Web masters will love. I log on to my instant messenger at 4 a.m. and I get a message from someone telling me they know a model who suggested she contact me about a possible modeling job.
"Really? Who is this model," I asked the person.
"I am not sure if they'd want me to tell," they responded.
I told them I am sorry, but they already sounded fishy to me. They tried to tell me they were new to modeling and wasn't sure about giving out her referal's name because they weren't sure if they modeled for me or not. I was totally not buying this from the get.
"Can you tell me more about modeling for you," they then asked.
I played stupid and said to look at my site and they could see examples there. Several minutes later, after some more mindless chatter, I was asked why I sounded mean. I then said I get people trying to scam stuff all the time and I was very tired.
"I just have 2 questions to ask you before you go to bed," they said. "First, can I get a temp login to see more of your work."
HAHAHA! I knew it! It was the request I was waiting for and I told them I knew that they were going there eventually. I said no and they tried to play it off. The second question had to do with how I convince all the girls to pose for me and if they think the foot thing is wierd.
I had never been asked either by any potential model, even one I never met in my life. This was most certainly a male wanting a free membership to the site and wanting to know about the girls on it. Do you guys get this a lot?
You did well, I know you get a lot of that behavior. You're VERY right though, so often "potential models" are actually guys. I get a lot of that as well. You wouldn't BELIEVE some of the scams they try to pull on the girls!
Actually, you would. I know you see a lot of that as well. Not a day goes by that some "agent" or "photographer" or "guy who works for FHM" emails Kristin, Jyllian, Summer, Midge, Malory, etc. with offers to "do a test shoot", etc., etc., etc. They work for Maxim .. yet use a Hotmail address (lol). They are an "agent for Playboy .. but use an AOL address (and mis-spell half the words).
I'm sure you must also get a lot of those "Hey let me help you" emails .. guys who are so nice and so benevolent, they are willing to "help you with your business" ... I get a lot of those.
"Hey Mr. Del Amirti I appreciate what you are doing. With just a little more attention & markteing, you could make it a great success. I can help u with anything you need, handing out pamphletsa, whatever let me know. By the way what's Malory's phone number?"
It sounds like you played this out perfectly. And by the way Patrick, it wasn't me!

it turns out to be commonplace on AOL Instant Messenger when thinking you've finally talked to a footgirl, it turns out to be a "free visit to a porn site" and you realize you've been duped!

Patrick, all anyone needs to see to know about Solesofsilk.com is the feature of Carmen's rail walk.here at Wu's place. When I found that a wave of passion hit me like a freight train. If a guy doesn't know he is in paradise after seeing that he never will. I never advocate scamming a hard working webmaster, but feel a good selection of honest representations of a site's contents is good business. We have all been scammed by misrepresented sites before. Or it is just me??? I would like to submit myself to Ben for employment, however, if he needs a dumpy looking dude to be photographed worshipping the heavenly feet of his feminine angels. I bet he can't find anyone to do that for him.

I used to be co-owner of a video game website myself and yes I got asked for free stuff too. Now folks just because I own a website does not make me rich and I damn sure do not have free stuff. You see websites exist to make somebody somewhere money. It can't very well make money if the webmaster is handing out his wares for free now can it?
My personal favorite is some dolt pretending to be from "a well known video game magezine"(his exact words) asking me for free games to review for his magazine. No mention on if I was going to be paid for my generosity. I politely told him to "go die in a car accident".
