I was wondering if any of us ever discovered that our father or other male relative liked feet as well and may have passed it down to us? I've had my suspicions about my dad but I've never had real proof.

My older cousin and I both have foot fetishes, and I'm pretty sure our uncle has one too, so I think there's some plausibility in a foot fetish being genetic. Where ours come from, I'm not sure. Our grandfather passed away before my cousin and I were born, so we can't ask him, though he'd probably a likely candidate as the fetish hasn't seemed to skip a generation. The funny thing too is that my uncle with the suspected fetish has no children.

How do you know your older cousin has one? did you ask him, he revealed it to you? or you caught him red handed? lol
I think in life we are exposed to things early on that may or may not shape us to think certain ways as we grow up.
People want a "genetic" reason for everything these days. We are a society that wants an answer for everything, but we want answers that do not require us or people from our past to be the reason or infuence.
Just like bad ass kids. Many (not all) are not ADHD... just crappy parenting, influence and guidance.
Just like my daughter and son being smart asses. Not genetic, its their parental influence! lol I saw it in them by 18 months...
So, foot loving may not be something that is as open etc... as other things, but some way, some how- it was introduced in some fashion, good or bad... as a child, teen or adult. It doesnt kill anyone so I say- embrace it.
My opinion ... I am sure it wont be too popular!

You bring up some good points, Footgirl. I don't think there is a certain GENE, but definitely there has to be something from the past that triggers the attraction.

At most I think genes might make a person more susceptible to developing the fetish. I don't mean to be insulting but foot fetish seems to me very counter-productive to the human species. Think of all the people too embarrassed to be intimate with their partners because of it, or those who aren't the slightest bit interested in anything but feet. Natural selection would weed these sort of things out, yet foot fetish is so incredibly common.
Anyway I am certain my father doesn't have a foot fetish because I have stumbled upon his porn collection and it is pretty standard stuff.

at 18 months wouldn't it be genetic? awfully young to just learn how to be a smart ass
personalities are molded through genetics, environment, and life experiences
i think our genetics made us somehow prone to developing the fetish and then we had a very early experience involving feet
babies touch themselves a lot, maybe we were touching ourselves and then we spotted mom's feet causing a permanent attraction to feet or maybe some female gently rubbed her feet on our chest
my psychology book describes how a fetish or preference could possibly develop the way i described, only the example was a young kid touching himself and then spotting mom's pantyhose, causing a pantyhose fetish
ps if you have a very young son you might want to be careful about changing in front of him fellas, avoid taking a bath with him too

Your family members could actually be into feet, they could just be REALLY REALLY good at keeping their secret concealed....
Im sure nobodies going to ask their dad/uncle/brother are they into feet? wouldn’t that be a bit of an embarrassing question lol?

Its definitely not passed down in my family. My dad once said i was in this chatroom and this freak kept asking this chick to show him his feet. My dad said why wouldn't you want to see her tits or ass what a weirdo he said. So my dad is not on the same page.

Kids learn from their environment. They pick up some behavior traits. My house can get pretty loud and I'm usually pretty mellow. My kids talk loud like my in-laws.
