I was going to start this last week, but had computer problems! This is a league of celebrity women of the past. The ladies are: 1. The Classics Greta Garbo Elizabeth Taylor Rita Hayworth Bette Davis 2. 50's Babes Bettie Page Sophia Loren Audrey Hepburn Marilyn Monroe 3. 60's Chicks Cher Jackie Kennedy Ann Margaret Raquel Welch 4. 70's Girls Farrah Fawcett Diana Ross Sally Field And here's a gallery of barefoot photos of the girls: http://img252.imagevenue.com/gallery/loc15/142_1032_Famous_Women_of_the_Past.php Sixteen girls will be separated into four groups of four girls each. For now we'll call those four groups The Golden Symbols, The Symbols of 50s, The Symbols of 60s, and The Symbols of 70s.
There will be four rounds to this contest. In the first round, the contest runs under double-elimination rules ...
Each girl will face another girl in her group. The one with the most votes in each match wins. In the following week, for each group, the girls who won their matches will face each other in what will be called the "Qualifying Match", while the two losers face each other in and "Elimination Match". The girl who wins the Qualifying Match will automatically advance into the second round with a 2-0 record, while she waits for the second girl to advance out of that group. The loser of that match still has a chance to advance to the following round. In the Elimination Match, however, the winner still has a chance to advance. The loser will be eliminated (because by that time she would've lost twice, which is what I mean by double-elimination). In the third week, each group will have one match. That match will have the winner of the Elimination Match against the loser of the Qualifying Match. Each of those girls will have lost once up to that point. The winner of this match will advance into the second round as the runner-up of her group with a 2-1 record. The loser is eliminated for having lost a second time.
By that time, the first round will be over, and the two girls in each group with the best records will advance to the second round.
Each girl's record will NOT carry over into the second round.

I am a HUGE fan of National's contest, and had a blast voting and taking part in those discussions. It's worth the wait for his version to return. But to help alleviate the pain in waiting for the new season, National has joined forces with Zerts to help us ease through the next several weeks with format that uses women of the past to think about.
I'm a fan of vintage stars as well, though I don't know if it would be at your level, Dougiezerts. As you can see in my avatar, Anne Francis is pictured. I used her as my avatar because she played the leading role in my favorite Twilight Zone episode titled 18th Floor. This episode will help bring back how the times were more innocent and how people took things more easy. Anne Francis is my favorite as a vintage actress.
But these matches are a bit difficult to decide on and I like how the tournament format is set up. That Hepburn/Monroe match was my toughest to choose on. What a way to grab people's attention by having such a high-profile match like that. I don't think I ever thought of who I would've chosen between those two even in my own imagination. Now that it's one of the questions, it brought a new sense of understanding of how great they were when they were at their best.
There's a Twilight Zone connection in that picture. That robot was featured in one or two episodes of that show, though Anne Francis was not in any of them. I guess this was meant to get Twilight fans to get talking about one of it's stars meeting another for the first time.

This is a cool concept. I have a few favorites on who I want to see go far. Monore and Page, to name a couple.
That Anne Francis thing is pretty cool! When I have time, I'll see that episode from beginning to end. And that pic of Anne with that robot is one of the coolest pictures I have EVER seen. I think I saw an episode with that robot. He was a butler for some rich family. It had to do with some old guy. My memory about that episode is sketchy at best. I think it feel down a flight of stairs.
This double elimination format sounds fair enough to me.

We're here, finally, to celebrate the lives and legacies of women who left lasting impressions that has stayed potent for the last several generation and will continue to stand the test of the ages.
They were the foundation that helped shaped Hollywood become the promise of cherished dreams for many or shattered promises for others. Cinema's Golden Era gave rise to the likes of Great Garbo and Rita Hayworth and placed them on pedestals and where they became immortalized and the center of any spotlight that shined for the longest, most successful distances. They helped paved the way for others who wanted to follow suit such as Audrey Hepburn and Marylin Monroe. By continuing that valued tradition of lady-like grace and delightful allure, they, too, became a generation's worth of admiral speculation and endearment.
These starlets were the rare commodities. What you did not know about these ladies became just as fascinating as the things you did know about them.
They kept life simple and easy. Even with the ladies who became symbols after them, like Jackie Kennedy and Farrah Fawcett. Even though times went to change throughout the courses of the 1930, 40s-70s, class and integrity remain the common-hold specialty.
Let's take the time to remember how life has been for those who lived through the times of J.F.Ks assassination, the Great Depression, World War II, Woodstock, and the times of the Hillside Stranglers and Son of Sam. Throughout whatever hardship, these ladies were always there for solace as guidance and wonderment to help men and women cope through dramatics and the better times of joy and great company.

Monroe and Fawcett are the ways to go. It seems like it'll be a while before those two square off. But for this round, I'll say that Diana Ross is most likely not going to advance to the next round. I'm not surprised to see Fawcett with as big of a lead as she has now.

I'm glad Greta Garbo is right back in this thing. At first I was convinced that she was done before I knew it.
And that Twilight Zone clip was wondeful, 18th Floor. Anne Francis is just beautiful. Sweet voice. Those must've the good ol' times that generations afterwards decided to skip out on. It would be nice to see things ease up a bit or go back in time to live their stories with them. But only for a while. Because I also enjoy the celebs of today and the addictive fast times, nature and exposure these women recieve and get praised (or hated) for. I can't wait until National's contest retunrs next year. I can't believe I missed out on it, but will have its full support next season.
Continue voting for Greta and others (like Monroe).

This is great! It's awesome to reflect back on the beautiful women who helped shape what the Foot Fetish industry has evolved into today. Excellent matches all around and great pictures dougie. For National's concept to provide such a satisfying look back on the women of yesteryear while we wait in anticipation for the return of Megan Fox and company in early 2010, I really can't think of a better way to spend this fall.
In the first match I went with Liz Taylor. Garbo's beautiful as well but the pic of Liz really shows off how increadable her feet were in their prime and what an emense honor it would be to service them. I went with Liz in a close one here.
Rita Hayworth and Bette Davis was a good battle as well. I love Rita's outfit and her toes most definately look sexy, however Bette's arches are a masterpiece that would be competitive among todays best. Those arches would be about the most heavenly path a tounge could take to the delicious destination of tasting her toes that any true foot fetishist wouldn't hesitate to set out for. I'd take my chances on the tide comming in and drowning me before I'd consider comming up for air if I had an oppertunity to pop out of the water and suck on Bette's toes in that picture. They should change the name of the song to Bette Davis Toes. I'm going with Bette in this one.
Bettie Page and Sophia Loren is an excellent matchup. Page's soles look great in the pictures and one can't give her enough credit for being such a pioneer in the foot fetish world. She was kinky, crazy, sexy and awesome before being any of those things were even cool. That being said, Loren's picture is fucking Hot!!!! Great view of the top of one foot, the sole of the other as she relaxes with eyes closed and those full lips just enjoying the moment seductively. I could imagine her making that very face due to satisfaction from having her toes sucked making it very difficult to vote against her. I think comparing the pictures straight up, Loren's feet are hotter based on the pictures provided, but in National's main contest the deciding factor is usually "Who's feet would you rather have an endless foot session with?" and for me I think that would be Bette Page simply because she's so wild and would be so into it. Because of that I'm going to go with Page, but it's tough. Loren's pic is fucking sexy as hell. I voted Page though.
Great pic of Hepburn. She looks very powerful and demanding. If she propped her nyloned foot up like that and demanded you to commence worship even with a look of distain in those sexy eyes of hers it would be very difficult to resist. The only way I think I could resist would be if instead of doing that, I had the option to engage in some foot play with Marylin Monroe. Marylin was so playful, so sexual and so increadably beautiful she just outclasses Hepburn which is an amazing accomplishment in and of itself. Add to that the fact she's brought a pic to the dance that tempts the viewer with a playful glance, the sexy combo of a breast shot + her sweet ass stuck in the air above her hot wrinkly soles just screaming for a tounge bath and poor Hepburn doesn't stand a chance. Monroe all the way here.
Cher and Jackie Kennedy aren't on the same level for me as the last couple of matches but it's pretty tough to decide between them. The resolution on Jackie's pic isn't all that great making it difficult to get a good feel for what she's packing so I'm going to have to go with Cher who's got some pretty hot toes and looked pretty damn hot back in the day. I hope Sonny got him some of those toes when he had the chance.
Next matchups tough. Racquel Welch was a Goddess, her body's spectacular and she's sexy as fuck. She really was the next step in the evolution of these women but for me she's taking this matchup for granted with her toes buried in the sand. Ann Margaret on the other hand has brought out the big guns delivering with a photo that feetures a scene that could easily be construed as an actual footworship scene. She didn't just stop there either, in that photo she's got a phenominal toe point excentuating a very, very, very sexy arch. She's rocking the heart shaped sun glasses that add a diva like attitude of say a Paris Hilton, but Margaret's actually got some great curves and awesome tits giving her both the body and the feet to back it up. The lucky bastard in that photo must have been in heaven. If that was me I'd toss that polish and paint her toes with a substance of a different sort. Margaret Steals my vote here with an exceptional picture that has turned me into an instant fan of hers.
Farrah Fawcett simply crushes Diana Ross in the biggest mismatch of the week. Diana had a pretty smokin' bod back in the day. Really great legs, but her feet aren't attractive at all. While Ross's picture does a good job of changing the modern day imagine I have of her as a hideous mess, at her best she's no where near in the same league as Farrah on any level. Fawcett was a Goddess from head to toe and her picture is phenominal. Great Arch, Great toes, Great legs, Great tits, Great hair, Beautiful Face, just a Gorgeous woman well ahead of her time and gone far too soon. She's going to be tough for anyone in this contest to overcome. Diana Ross and those neandrathal looking clubs she calls feet has absolutely no fucking chance in this one. Fawcett in a complete obliteration here.
Sally Field and Linda Ronstadt is a great matchup to close out the opening week. This might have been the toughest call for me because Ronstadt's picture is great and overall I think it's sexier than the photo Sally brought to the dance. If you just compare their feet head to head in the pics, it's very close and Sally doesn't give up anything as it's a great sole shot testifying to the fact her arches are sexy and high, her toes look wonderful and her feet would be a true joy to service, but she looks very plain and tomboyish overall in the picture while Ronstead has great toes on display, a sexy looking arch in her own right, and from head to toe she looks much more beautiful than Sally overall in these two pictures as she defines the hot hippie chick fantasy perfectly. That being said, I'm always been a huge Sally Field fan since the first time I saw Smokey and the Bandit. She has a smile and an attitude that is just so sexy and she's aged gracefully. She's not sexy anymore but she still has a lovely smile and remains a fairly attractive old lady. She's really a natural beauty. The picture does a great job in showing how hot Sally's feet are which is the point of the contest but it doesn't do justice at all to how hot she was overall. I think Ronstead will win this matchup because her overall beauty will sway people in the picture, but I can't help combine the sexiness of Sally's foot in this photo with my childhood fantasy of wanting to make love to her Smokey and the Bandit character with a little bit of foot play thrown into that mix. I'm voting for Sally Field for the upset in this one.
This toruney is just what the doctor ordered to get us through the fall and into winter. I'm into it already and looking forward to how it'll all unfold while getting to see some prime photos that I likely have never seen before of some of the hotter babes from back in the day.
