What are your thoughts on this subject?

Know what Eliza, I kinda find it pretty hot.

Just as with any other part of the body, some are sexy, others look horrible. It just depends on the type of tattoo and i guess the type of girl it goes on, how much of the foot it covers, whether or not it compliments the shape and form of the foot or takes away from it or covers too much of it.

I myself prefer the girl without makeup theory, if it didn't look good before it won't with anything. And in the same token, if it looks good already too much may make it look way worse.

I don't mind tattoos anywhere else on the body but the feet. I believe they're too precious to cover up with ink. That's just me though.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I love quality ink, but I used to hate any tattoo on a girls foot. I'm starting to warm up to them, but some are very tacky and detract from the natural beauty of the foot.

That's the first time I've ever seen a tattoo on the sole. I've never even heard of that. I think if it's a small tattoo then it's alright but if it's like covering the top part of the foot then I'm not a fan. A girl in one of my classes had a flip flop tattooed onto her foot- interesting.

Posted by tom (Member # 223) on :

i know what you mean , i've heard of sole tatoos but never seen one being done !

if you check out Rossi's "Sex Life Of the Foot and Shoe" you will find he talks about sole tatooing. also in Harry Crews novel "Body" some of the female body builders have sole tatoos.

honestly, that would be a cool gift, your lady getting her soles tatooed - now thats commitment!

I really only saw a couple I really liked on feet. Modtly because they were small and didn't ditract from the beauty of the feet. One woman I know at work has a small rose on the top of her foot just behind the little toe. Another woman I know from baseball (her daughter was on my son's tee ball team) has a small Superman logo on her big toe. As for tattoos on the soles - not a fan. I LOVE the clean sole look and it drives me nuts if there is a bit of dirt or anything on my wife's soles.

why anyone feels the need to permanently "beautify" something that's already perfectly beautiful, well, that's just beyond me.

We did some Henna on my ankles to see what it would look like. The henna ink was still wet when we took these, but you get the idea. What do you guys think of this?

I dislike when the tat takes away instead of enhancing the beauty and that's anywhere on the bod. I hate when people go too overboard and I see the tat more than the beauty in the bod. Either one or two tats is fine. Something small, tasteful and discreet that enhance are more my preference.

I think it's kinda cute. I DO like tats. More around ankles and toes than on the tops or sides of feet, but... on a whole, I usually don't mind. For those familiar with Mommie's Feet... her stars are pretty cool. And... as for Henna... I've seen some exceptionally hot henna before. Now THAT looks good on the tops and sides. I have to ask my friend if she got any pics the last time she was henna'd. Delicious.

I'm not a fan of tattoos on women or men for that matter. Its interesting that the fad has picked back up like it has. Both of my grandfathers had bad tattoos on their arms they had done back in the 1920s and 1930s. As you can imagine by the time I was born they were completely unrecognizeable as to what they once were. Ink fades and spread, sagging skin, wrinkles, etc. All you kids today getting it done have that to look forward to when you are in retirement. A lot of inked up old folks wearing long sleeve shirts in the summertime to hide faded tats. And lets not start about the guys putting the big gauged metal to stretch out their earlobs! I suppose it'll be something nice for their grandchildren to swing around on. [Laugh]

Funny that you said this, my earlobes ARE gauged! They aren't huge or anything just a .2, but I just read that and it made me laugh! People ask me why I did it. The only thing I can ever think of is because I like it, and I've had them done for 10 years.

Hi there,

Personally, I am thinking of getting a tattoo on my foot. To be exact, around my ankle and down on the top of my foot, something like this (but only with a Rosary I have at home)
[IMG]http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa318/Blondetoes/fc96.jpg[/IMG]
I think tatt's can add to the sexyness of a foot, but I would only do it if I were 100% certain it was what I was after. If you really want one, then get one (or two in your case [Laugh] ). I think you have great feet, and adding a tattoo will not change that for me or for Neph (he likes your feet a lot too [Wink] ).
I can't wait to see them for real, if you have them done, if not... well I'll just content myself to looking at your sexy feet as they are.
Kisses,
Blondi

Hey Eliza - just found this thread and I must say this much
Ink is a personal choice and for your own reasons.
I did not get mine to impress and wow the masses
Mine have meaning to be and that is what counts!
When I was 19 I had 7 tumors removed and almost lost my left breast to breast cancer. The pink in my stars represents my "support ribbon" to all the survivors and future victims of this disease.

To each his own and ultimately it is YOU that must wake up each day with your ink.

ps ~ If it is well taken care of - a tat can last for a long time in perfect condition. Besides fading is what touch ups are for [Wink]

Posted by feetluvr (Member # 1570) on :

I'm among the ranks of those who don't really care for them, even when they mimic or replace foot jewlery (like toe rings or anklets). A very small tat on the ankle is about the only thing I could probably tolerate, but tolerate is the operative word. As most have said, it distracts from the true beauty of the foot.

A punk friend of mine almost 20 years ago seemed to start on this before it went mainstream. He got his nipples pierced (would sometimes wear nails through them) and all kinds of original artwork all over him. Not the little "tribal" stuff every fraternity boy has around his bicep. This guy was really "out there," but wasn't an in your face person to do it to get attention as he was a very personable artistic person. I lost track of that dude along time ago and no one seems to know what became of him.

I think tattoos on feet look fantastic. But you have to plan it out well and research the work of the artist. A good tattoo can look great a bad tattoo can be just a ugly mark.

Thanks Eliza ... they hurt a little - mostly the tops of the stars towards the ankle.
Other than that I thought it kind of tickled to be honest! [Tongue]

OH and three things!
1. YOUR FEET ARE NOT UGLY
2. THEY ARE YOUR FEET - DO AS YOU WILL
3. WHO CARES WHAT OTHERS THINK - THE QUESTION IS : ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THE CHOICE?

cool if you don't like them, that's just your opinion, if someone wants them you're not going to convince them otherwise, just like I'm not convincing you that tattoos do look good. But some tattoos carry alot of meaning for the people that get them, and they probably care about that more than they care about some dude who thinks it gets in the way of looking at their feet.

why add ink to something that already looks great?

she asked for opinions so i gave mine

and again if a girl wants to model her feet she has to care what guys think of them, stop pretending that they shouldn't care [Roll Eyes]

based on what eliza has said she wants it because she thinks it looks nice, not because there is some meaning behind it

as for people getting tats because they have some meaning behind them, I don't totally buy that because if tats weren't the "in thing" nowadays I don't think they would be getting them no matter what they supposedly mean

why wasn't every college frat boy 20 years ago getting the barb wire tattoo on his bicep to remind himself that he's a badass and a warrior that will ALWAYS be strong? [Big Grin]

because they weren't "in" back then [Wink]

I am thinking of getting them purely for aesthetic purposes. I like them and my husband does. Those are the only reasons I would actually get them. It has nothing to do with it being "in".

I didn't think this thread would get very many responses, guess I was wrong. I, like some of you, think a tattoo can look good or bad anywhere. It all has to do with personal preference though. Thanks for all of you thoughts and opinions.
