OK so I have had this great idea for a long time now, and I want to see what everyone (including Wu himself) thinks!!!
What about having a "Wu's Hall Of Fame"? I know there would be a lot of candidates and many who are deserving of such an honor. However we could make it very exclusive, say, with two members inducted annualy.
Any member of Wu's, past or present, male or female would be eligible. Two members would be chosen every year and they would have their own space, or even their own page at Wu's, for all time. On this page could be a "trophy" with their username, also their bio, as well as a few photos of their favorite models, or if they are the model, a few favorite photos of themselves!
Voting criteria would be based on (but not limited to) some or all of the following: amount of contributions, quality of contributions, longevity of membership, and just overall popularity on Wu's.
I have compiled a list of candidates whom I feel would be worthy to be on the ballot for the first "Wu's Hall Of Fame" voting. (Again, keep in mind these members could be past or present, active members or not) I'm sure you will recoginze a few
Callico Jack Ben Del Amitri Brittney Sweetstink Patrick (Soles Of Silk) Goodguy Neighbor Tyler Feetcore (A.K.A. Tyler D.) J.R. (Collgefoot) Lou Gojira Jedi Of The Feet Gigi Lord Lucan coedfeet
I know that I have forgot a few more, if anyone would like to add to this list, and then Wu could make a final determination of what the first ballot should look like?...

Sounds like a great idea/incentive to for people to start interacting on the forum more! When I first joined this forum I was all about getting my "rank" up with the post's...mostly by posting "Nice feet" or "Sweet"...but I soon changed and decided to put more into my posts..whether it be giving advice to a fellow foot brother or just commenting/drooling over some foot pics. The more this place grows the better! A Hall of Fame addition would be a great addition! Great idea footboy!

A great idea, assuming that fellow forum members (voters) would be voting on the substance of the nominee's posts and threads and not just their post count. I don't think that would be an issue at all though- we have an incredibly intelligent group of members here.

I guess it could work. I know of another forum that gives away free t-shirts when you reach a certain number of posts. Maybe we could include an incentive similar to that.

The voting system has been tried before (if I remember correctly at the beginning of the year) and it didn`t seem to work out right for everybody, so Wu dropped it from the forum.
As you may have already noticed in this thread, everybody wants to be in the Hall of Fame and feels treated unfair if he/she is not mentioned. Itīs going to be really difficult to satisfy all the thousands of members on this board...

I think the idea is a decent one. However, I think it would be worth more aggravation than it's worth. I'm sure it would piss off some people who think they should be nominated or get into the Wu HOF on the first ballot.
What should really be done, if this were to be taken seriously, is to get an impartial, and probably secret, online committee together that's willing to take the time to look through contributions and base their merit of HOF status on the criteria feetluvr put forth, then have the committee compile their list of nominees and then put forth a list of the top contributors to the general readership here at Wu's and let the members decide for themselves via a poll.

Well it would liven up the forum though. I am in no way campaigning for myself to be on the ballot but there is so many worthy people to be voted in. Either by commitee or secret ballot....

No, the idea of it wasn't to rub people the wrong way, or to create more agravation around here... it was meant to be something fun, a little something for the loyal members of Wu's to look forward to every year (and maybe it would be an extra incentive for those "lurkers" who don't usually post to get involved a bit)... to me I see it as only making an already great website that much better...
As for pissing off those that don't win, something tells me that most of the people that get on the ballot wouldn't take it so seriously anyway and don't forget there would always be next year). But I could be wrong.

Yes there is a status you reach in terms of post counts(Hall of Famer). But what Footboy is trying to get started is an actual Hall of Fame "domain". Where you actually get voted into...then when in the Hall of Fame as an incentive you might be able to win a DVD or website pass or something along those lines as opposed to the t-shirt..nothing wrong Wu's or representing him! But yet again I think incentives would have to be introduced in order to have some of the lurkers want to contribute to the forum more.

i think its a good idea, but the quality of posts and the work that go into them are way more important then the number of posts. Id be pissed if i saw me Alice, goodguyneighbour not being in it, and guys who write "nice" after a set of pics gets 1,000 posts! am i wrong??

I totally agree.
It should be more about what the individuals have posted and their quality of content rather than about quantity of their posts if something like this were to come to pass. Still, I'm sure there may end up being a few bruised egos out there who do have a legitimate shot of getting into an "official hall of fame" and don't get in on a given year and have to wait until next year,... or the year after that,.... or the year after that... (I think you get my point).

In my personal experience on another site, I would have to say that any kind of Hall of Fame or Best Of - usually tuns out badly
Some could handle the fun - others tended to stew and brood in anger Everything was taken entirely too seriously and it even got to where the girls were catty - EWWWWW
We know who the "Hall of Famers" really are ... they are the ones in this forum reading and responding ... everyday

When this thread was first started I was game for it but more and more I am not liking the idea..I mean we cant even as a community agree on whether or not we should even have a Hall of Fame! It would be just something fun to have..a little extra incentive for the lurkers out there to post more.

Although my name was thrown out initially, it really doesn't phase me either way. Sure it would be neat if I were selected and I had another place to promote Soles of Silk on Wu's, but the way I look at it... Wu has given me a forum section for the site, a place to chat with all of you (hands down better than any other forum/venue in the foot world), gives me a place to show contributions and also has asked me several times to do feature galleries. Wu is the man and I don't need anything else from him. Wu himself should be the only member!

Exactly. I would consider it dedication to our community for those who contribute on a consistent basis and for making Wusfeetlinks a great place to hang out and discuss/view various foot topics/photos. Wu is probably the best web site for pretty feet pound for pound anywhere. A Hall of Fame type format may be taken too seriously and destroy the fabric we have built around here as a community. Just my $0.02.
