Guys, I was just thinking today, I'm curious to know the statistics what proportion of the male population like feet? How rare are we? My guess is 5% of the population have a foot fetish. Does anyone have any hard facts?

20% seems kind of high. Were these men who loved feet to the same extent that most of us do, or were they men who had no problems with occasionally incorporating feet into their sex life?

I was once told that about 2% of people have a fetish of some kind, and 1/4 of them were into feet.
Making the total number of foot fetishists a more realistic stat of about 0.5%.

It's definitely the most popular fetish on the Internet. At least neck and neck with B&D/S&M if you count that in there. I could see it being between 10-20% of men, no problem.

i think i can find a 'reliable' source for a stat.. but not sure when..
if memory serves me right... less than 10% have a hardcore fetish of some sort and half of them are into feet. however.. a much larger percent have a deep 'appreciation' for feet and will incorporate it at some point in time to their sexual activity.. more like 25% have that 'appreciation'.
but... let me look up my stats and get back to you on that.

the thing is i think it IS like 30 percent of the population of males. I think this because not everyone thinks it is a fetish, but all the time I see guys playing with girls feet at high school and girls showing them to guys as part of flirting. Even on TV i've seen it a ton over the last 6 years. I've seen on MTV on the old show Dismissed where a guy is in the jacuzzi with a girl and says at that moment he wants to suck on both feet. I've seen on blind date toe sucking. I saw it on the VH1 show I Love New York like two weeks ago. I've saw it on some other reality show on which a guy is complementing a girls toes at a pedicure session. I've seen it numerous times in pop culture which is a very important because it is obvious mainstream enough to put on TV. unlike shit fetish and other fetishs which have miniscule niches on the web and in the darkest corners of porno shops. Not to mention the fact that girls DO try conciously to make their feet look pretty. Many girls know that there is a reason behind this other than sheer look. it's everywhere but subtle as zappa1968 said, which I think makes it cool.

well depends on how "fetish" is designed and who sees it as such. many men may just see it as something they just love to do with girls, not as a "fetish" with such a stigma on the word "fetish"

no one would choose footjobs over sex, but we should see who would prefer them over handjobs, that would be an accurate measure. foot fetish is not a substitute for sex, it is a supplement to sex.

If you watch ads with an eye for it, you may notice that the female models are barefoot when trying to convey a sense of self-confidence, security, or being in an enviable place to relax. Hope that this approach to selling things to the female demographic is successful...I want to see more of it.

i can't find the book i got my info from (years ago i read it).
but i've found the book on amazon.com... here is the link
it's called... "sex in america".... and it's was for it's time one of the most comprehensive study of sex in america... more stats than you can think about.. and i had to read it for a research paper in order to graduate. the professor liked how the study was so comprehensive and well done.
whoever has a copy... you'll find out almost all you need to know about the topic of preferences for whatever americans do in bed.
wish i could find my copy to give you the stat i was talking about.
the second book i read on the subject.. have no clue what the title was... but it dealt more along the lines of fetishes and subs and doms...
i'll still look around the place to see if i find the book, but my guess it's in storage and right now.. no time to find it.

its is the most common fetish with 47% of the population having this fetish. Not many publicise it though.
If i had to wager a guess it would be somewhere around 10-15%. Because in talking with some people there are just so many people that are grossed out by feet. Not sure why, but that is the way it is. Me i love feet just hate the gross ones.
