i had a conversation with a female friend of mine,and she said that she never wears nylons. i just wanted your opinions guys..are women wearing nylons a thing of the past, will there be no more pantyhose or stockings in the future.

can't completely say they are out of style.I catch women wearing them all the time,and are still used in goth/fetish/alternative fashion.striped stockings are very popular amongst gothic women,as are fishnets,and even black sheer stockings @ times.one thing I will say I don't see a lot @ all anymore(never was a fan anyways)are tan pantyhose.

I can't say that they are on the raging vanguard of fashion now a days, but some women seem to love them. Although most of the women I know of that enjoy wearing them also enjoy the company of a foot guy. I also tend to find myself in the company of more than a few goths and on occasion the ladies like to don them just for the fun of it. Mostly black or black and white stripes. Some of my lady friends in the UK like to wear them but they might be a minority there too. But the thing to remember is that a good many things that were in style in the past have a way of making their way into present fashion. I mean take a look at the style of dress today. we are revisiting bell bottoms, the early 80's style hair cuts. Maybe nylons will be a part of that too.

My girlfriend and I talked about this. She said that girls don't wear them like they used it. Especially in the summer. I love them on feet, too!

if women had their way... hose would be a thing of the past (well.. most of them anyway). not sure why... because they do admit it plays a significant role in the wardrobe. i love seeing hosed legs and feet... i hope in my life time.. it doesn't completely run out of style

I have seen a resurgence of solid color tight wearing recently. I think Xero is right, however, everything old in fasion comes around again. I was personally pleased about the popularity of flip-flops the past few years.

HI guys! Sorry to bust in but I wear thigh highs or garters with stockings. They make me feel very sexy! No pantyhose though and mostly black or fishnets. But in the summer there is nothing like being barefoot in a pair of slides so that may be one reason they aren't so popular anymore. Just a woman's point of view. Have a great day! Lynne

Interesting that they make you feel sexy! How neat! My wife was quite surprised after I told her about my fetish- that I didn't care for garters, nylons or pantyhose (which she hates wearing btw- says that, especially here in the FLorida heat, that they are NO fun to wear). She has long legs, and had at times kidded about getting some garters to "turn me on". Funny how, for decades, that G,N & P have been so synonymous with sexuality.

As I said before, at least here in Florida, the smooth, bare, tanned leg seems to be preferred by women whenever they can dress that way. Only the very corporate and very fashionable occassions seem to call for nylons.

I too wear nylons. I cannot say they are the MOST comfy thing I own but they are "sexy" feeling to wear. My feet have a different aroma with them on too - so I sometimes wear them to drive the hubby INSANE!! LOL

I DO understand why women wear them both on the practical side and the appearance side but it wouldn't bother me if they went away. Can't imagine that happening, though. I do occasionally enjoy the look of garters & stockings...gives a rather delightful predatory look, I think.

I actually have a couple pairs that I wear with a particular formal outfit. But Typically I don't wear them. They can make you look a lot more distinguished I think, I don't know, at least I feel that way. Wearing more clothes always feels more formal.

Hi guys! Gawd it's been a long time!!!....
Just catching up on my reading and this post caught my eye!! I guess I'm one of the only girls that actually likes wearing nylons, stockings, thigh-highs or knee-highs. I love the way they look, feel and Definately smell. Of course, getting the Mr. off to these probably encourages me to wear them more.
They'll never be outta style in my house!!!

I understand the Florida deal. whenever I visit there, I don't expect my wife to wear hose either (but am surprised when she does and enjoy it every time)

In my opinion, there are a few categories of stockings/legwear and the prevalence of the wear of the items varies dramatically from category to category.
First, there are the colored and textured tights that are very popular right now to wear with dresses and long sweaters. If anything, there has been a resurgance of this type of legwear recently - it is fashionable right now and you can find many different interesting colors and textures at any store.
Next, there are the sex-appeal type stockings (generally thigh-highs with garters, but not always) mostly black or fishnets. I LOVE the ones with the sexy backseam:) These are still worn just as much as they ever were, maybe more.
Finally you have the traditional nude/fleshtone pantyhose. I work in a conservative office in California where I have to wear business attire daily, and no one wears these anymore. It is all about color and texture now. Nude pantyhose are just not in fashion right now in the area I live in. Maybe some day they will be again?
Granted, I still wear nude pantyhose a lot for my website, but I don't wear them to work unless I am wearing them under slacks to keep me warm.
But I do have probably 30 pairs of colored or textured tights and many, many pairs of sexy stockings as well that I wear regularly in my daily life.

I feel my sexist in legwear of some type, I love classic stockings and garters best, nothing feels sexier.
One of my favorite things to wear out on the town this winter has been bright colored pantyhose and long socks with knee high boots, it really turns heads which makes me feel very sexy Honestly I like all kinds of legwear and going barefoot, variety is the spice of life and I'm very moody, LOL!
