this actually happend when i was with some close buddies of mine and one said man im kinda weird and everyone asked why and he answered because i like feet, well everyone else said they did too(kind of funny to find out that some of my closest buddies shared the same interest that i do, so i would probably DEFEND it

This has happened to me too. More than once actually. Once at a party of sorts the topic of feet came up somehow, and the typical 'ewwww gross' type comments were made by a few girls. Funny thing is that my friend didn't need any help from me. He was like "I'll suck your toes right now to prove you wrong." It quickly went from being some kind of debate to people cheering while my bro sucked on this chick's toes in front of everyone. She absolutely loved it and some of her friends were probably a little jealous.
So to actually answer the OP's question though, I'm not sure if 'defend' is the best word for how I react in these situations. Without a doubt I would jump in the conversation and let everyone know that I liked feet too. Part of the reason is so that a fellow lover isn't just thrown to the wolves and the other part is that I enjoy telling people that I like feet. I love seeing the different responses I get.
What I tend to do is use my humor to break the tension if there is any. I'll definitely try to make a joke of it all. Usually there is enough diversity in the crowd so that at least some people start to laugh at my jokes about kissing feet. And with laughter being contagious and all, it really helps to make sure the situation doesn't get all weird and awkward.

If the topic of someone else is coming up does that mean the person is there? If the person is there then for sure I'd stand up for him and say like that's not weird or you know what I think female feet are also attractive. If the person is not there I would still defend but not to the highest extent such as oh come on it's not that weird. Also I can't stand when those same people who are calling it weird and gross are the ones who get pedicures (most likely to showoff and are wearing flip flops)

I've been in those situations before too. I've explained that it's really not that gross or bizarre. Most of the times they leave it at, "well if you can find a girl who likes it, then go ahead." Of course, I'm sure we've all been in that situation at one time or another. There is a reason my friends don't know I have a foot fetish, and for that same reason, I intend on keeping it that way.
When I've been in that situation, I would act like I also didn't understand how anyone could like feet, but I would also say that people like what they like. Some guys like ass, others like feet. That's their prerogative.
