Strange subject maybe, but I have noticed that girls from different contries have different kind of footwear. Fot example: German girls often have dark sneakers or leather shoes and one coloured cotton socks. Spanish girls is often using leather shoes or boots (in this time of the year) with striped cotton socks and Italian girls are often walking in leather boots with kneelength striped cotton socks or really heavy woolen socks (kneelength). Girls from Scandinavia are often walking in sneakers with black pantyhose.
It seems that latin girls more often hide their feet in boots and long socks and girls from Germany, Switzerland and Austria have sneakers or - rather often - wandering boots.
Has anyone else done this observation?

I disagree about Latin girls. I see a lot of them in sandals, even in winter!

Probably has a lot to do with the climate...even in summer we have some really bad weather over here in North Germany, so sneakers and closed shoes are more or less a necessity.
On hot days I do see a lot of German girls in flip flops & sandals, though...or even better: walking barefoot on the street.

i doubt it's a cultural or regional thing.. just marketing thing where gals buy what is available and deemed in style.
even in the same country, the same set of gals will dress differently depending on where they live in that country. it's more a fashion thing than a ethnic deal.

I agree with you Dougiezerts that south American girls often wears sandals. I was thinking of French, Italian and Spanish girls. I think they use sandals too, but they seldom take them off in puiblic (I think). Finnish girls seems to love to show their feet.

Perhaps it is a cultural thing. Maybe women in some countries are less shy about baring their feet in public than women in other countries are.
