Yes, that map is awfully chaotic, though I don't have any suggestions for better organization.
I have to question the information on which it was based and wonder how the creator drew the conclusions she did. For example, I cannot fathom a "well established connection" between "super-sized fat people" and a sexual interest in "car crashes". Seems a bit of a stretch to me.
Still, it is interesting to contemplate the map and speculate.

You made a mistake, the two aren't connected at all.
The map seems pretty much perfect - really quite interesting.
