Have you ever seen, when a woman is standing, these little white dots that seem to protrude from her heels due to pressure from her weight being on them?

It's more common on heavier and older women (by my heuristic observation), but I've even seen it on lighter and younger women. In fact, about the first time I ever really noticed it, it was on the feet of my sister's friend Christine, back when we were kids in junior high school! She was a tiny, petite girl who couldn't have even weighed 100 pounds!

So, what ARE those things?!
Do they denote something wrong with the health of the feet? I do not believe they are any sort of warts, as they disappear when the feet are not standing with pressure on them. So anyone know what, anatomically or medically, they actually are?

From what I've found out online, since I have wondered the same thing for a while, most people have this happen when they have moisture built up in their feet. The pressure just causes it to show through the skin easier.

But they end up looking like little pustules... [Confused]

How would moisture take that form? Are they bubbles of water like a really deep blister or something?

Pjay - relax... they're just dot-sized potions of the skin where there's less (capillary-sized)blood vessels so the skin blanches under pressure of her weight...

Hey, I wasn't really worried that they were pustules! But it's pretty clear that they are raised bumps when you see them... I don't think we're talking about the same phenomenon, glabrous1.
