Have any of you seen Avatar, yet? The promos, showing a barefoot blue-skinned girl, look promising!

I imagine that they have clawed animal-like feet though, which doesn't do anything for me.
The movie does look kick ass though, haven't got to see it yet.

haven't seen it yet, but definitely want to! And in 3D, of course :-)

I've seen it - and in 3D and it was awesome!! Very gripping story and the graphics are immense! Unfortunately you don't get any foot shots other than the main guy's avatar wiggling his toes when he first gets 'jacked in'

It's true that there are only a scant few closeups, and they're of the male character's feet.
But you see some side-angle shots of the blue alien girl's feet (overall, feet/body/face, she's amazingly attractive...you know, for an alien). Not claw-like at all! (Thankfully!) They look simply like blue human feet, more or less. (With the understanding that, since the aliens are about 8-10 feet tall, they'd be pret-ty fuggin' big!)
One thing I noticed is that the aliens ("NA'Vi") have FOUR toes per foot! That was visible on their hands, first; then I was on the lookout to spot it on their feet and finally there came a shot that was looking down at them from above and I saw that the girl's feet had four toes each. Neat! Posted by Hal (Member # 3484) on :
I can`t wait to watch it. Not for any foot scene but just because James Cameron is a very good director and it is just bound to be a great movie with amazing special effects and graphics.

Thanks. Maybe Cameron will do a sequal with better foot scenes!

Independent of anything feet-related, it was indeed a spectacularly good movie! I strongly recommend it.

cameron is the most over-rated director in the world. i did see avatar, and was alright. but i dont need to see a film in 3D, with CGI worlds, and huge explosions for it to be good. and b/c its a cameron film he get a $500,000,0000 budget? and even if the film was a piece of crap, it would still make $1,000,000,000.
you made the biggest movie of all time. WE GET IT!
but im not intersested in blue feet

As I mentioned above I havenīt watched Avatar yet, but Terminator 2 and Aliens were some of my favourite movies back in the days, and The Abyss wasn`t all bad either. It`s probably all a matter of taste and what you`re looking for in a movie....sci-fi is simply my favourite genre. But I totally agree with you that a movie doesn`t need CGI worlds and huge explosions to be good. One of my favourite films of all time is the French movie "La Haine" (==> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113247 ). Brilliant movie with no effects whatsoever and filmed completely in b/w. I also love movies by Ken Loach, Aki Kaurismaki and Jim Jarmusch...and many of those are filmed in a very minimalistic style.

I saw Avatar and loved it - made my all-time top 5 list - definitely see it in 3-D IMax though. The 3-D wasn't overbearing - you just basically felt like you were there. I liked the detail, the bugs and small objects flying around you in the jungle - I thought the story was great - made you think on a lot of different levels - many interesting parallels.
For me, though, it was the tech and how real it looked. Very well-done movie - I agree, too, in the above posting about Aliens and Termintator II and yes guys, Titanic, lol, were all-timers for me! If you are into Sci-Fi, you'll love it - I liked all that stuff - Star Wars is still my top movie of all time, I liked Jurassic Park, I know not a Cameron movie - but I like that sort of thing. If you liked Gladiator and 300, you'll love the battle scenes - not as graphic though.
In my humble opinion - two huge thumbs up!!
The girl was kinda hot in a wierd way, lol!

Awesome movie. Thought the 3D glasses were gonna be gay, but they turned out great. Someone posted a link on my FB wall a couple of days ago about how Avatar is Pochahontas in 3D...same storyline almost.
As for the blue feet...wow...the things are like 10 feet tall and clearly CGI feet...but if thats what your into...

Terrible movie, but then again I judge these things purely on the story. And this one has been told in the virtually the same form for near on 2 decades. It looked nice whilst doing it but overall I walked away disappointed.

just to make it clear, the character are created using motion capture, not just CGI.

I LOVED AVATAR!!! I saw it in 3D and I must admit, I was hoping to see the big feet of the large blue woman.. Unfortunately, no luck. But in my opinion, the best movie I saw in 2009, before Inglorious Bastards. Great story.
