I remember this ban and the hypocrisy behind it happening a while back, after the whole Rex Ryan incident.

Was the ban ever lifted, or are they still being stubborn about it?

I'm pretty sure it was WELL before that wasn't it?

Sorry - I haven't a clue.

Was it?

I thought both events happened at around the same time.

I doubt it. I had a girl from Model Mayhem send me an email the other day asking to shoot. Her Model Mayhem listed all kinds of foot fetish, femdom, and sex sites - including things with forced fucking, fisting, etc. So I doubt they ban the foot stuff.

Since when? Do you have any specifics? I'm sure randomly sending messages to people about FF shoots would be spam, and some "prudes" may report that particular profile. But more-over I think it's the quality of photographs in that profile that I thought would get it banned faster.

MM always had a not-safe for work mode, so I guess that may be it, if they show up even when NSFW is turned on.

Unless I'm missing something?

The original thread is gone. Or at least, I can't find it.

don't recall the exact time they started the discrimination but i believe it was around winter of 2010. they said any foot fetish profiles that had already existed for a while would be grandfathered in (and not banned), whereas new applications for foot fetish profiles would not be accepted.

they said this was a decision of the new ownership of modelmayhem and that they were entitled to discriminate as they saw fit because it was a privately held company.

my information came from a MM moderator by the name of Phil. I had an extensive conversation with him.

i'm pretty sure foot based shoot requests are still allowed since there are many foot profiles that are grandfathered in, but i don't think new foot fetish profiles will have the opportunity to ever prove themselves as having "artistic merit".

Did they ever say WHY foot fetish profiles are no longer allowed? Because if they disallow them, but allow nude shoots and other fetish-related profiles, then they're basically just being prudes (what's so artistic about nude shots, anyway?).

Then just post yourself as a photographer. Don't know why people need to categorize. Show a wide variety of shots, a few with the foot thing. Then just go after models who are open to it.

that's probably the smartest loophole to get around their discrimination. i recommend not mentioning much about foot fetish either. keep it normal fellas and you will fit in -- the world has a place for all of us when we wear the right masks.

believe me, I had a long intricate detailed conversation with a moderator discussing exactly that, PLUS, a whole lot else asking the why's and he gave me quite a lot of two-sided answers.

i recall i had taken screenshots of most of the conversation when it had happened and I posted it in a thread here at WU's for public record keeping purposes. i'm not sure where that thread is, but it will contain all the screenshots showing model mayhem's position on the details of why foot fetish was so much more different than nudity (and the like).

i deleted those screenshots from my hard drive after I posted the images in the thread.

Not that I'm a member of that site, or even a photographer (...yet), but it doesn't seem fair that we have to put on a mask, while other "deviants" can wear their intentions on their sleeves with no backlash at all. But I guess there's nothing we can do until the management changes hands. :/

Tyler, that's the thread I was looking for (and couldn't find). I just assumed it had been deleted.

I remember that you posted the screenshots, because I looked at them.

exactly, and I was sooo pissed about that too, because they have allowed bondage and simulated blood and beatings and even other ridiculous crap that had no artistic merit whatsoever, and those things were acceptable within their requirements provided they met differing stipulations.

and then the guy tells me that pictures of women who's bare feet are posed with the intent to arouse was not acceptable, when a full nude model could be posted with the intent to arouse and that would be okay. that is where he started detailing some double-sided artistic merit crap, and I just could not believe my eyes.

he further said that any reposting of our private messaging in the model mayhem forums would result in bans of the accounts posting those re-hashes, so I decided to keep a record of his words in the Wu's forum and on Mousepad too.

if it's been deleted, that's a shame, because that is the one thread where i kept an updated screenshot posting as the moderator would respond to my inquiries.

in the end, he and i had a respectful parting, but we definitely did not see eye to eye, but i at least recommended to them that they needed to be more specific in profile requirements if they are gonna discriminate against foot fetish, and he said they would take it under consideration.

In other words, he's not going to think twice about it ever again.

Promiscuous llamas. [Laugh]

Clear out your inbox, Tyler, if you don't mind.

Wait, flaccid penises are allowed, but erect penises aren't? Aren't those things usually all or nothing? >_>

They seem to be all over the place with their rules and such.
