Does anyone know where I can go to create a paysite. I need something user friendly. I built a site with ipage call pedicuredtoes.com but I don't know how to make it a members pay site so I just need something that will walk me through the steps. Thanks.

...It is much more complex than that, but good luck regardless! [Smile]

I mean no disrespect, but asking someone to walk you through all the step of designing a pay site is like asking someone to walk you through all the steps of putting a car's engine together. Even if you get it up, you'll need that person to help with every single update. If you're serious about making a site, you should take classes, or buy a book or two on site design, effective design and navigation, and go from there.

Yes what Patrick said, there are webmaster boards out there, with "Q and A"'s, etc. But your own trial and error will be your most valuable asset. And that's not even starting on your brand, backlinks, SEO, online presence, marketing, creating a business, articles of incorporation, gui design, bounce rates, conversions vs. retention rates, processors, merchant accounts, formats, members access protection, etc. Not to discourage you, but you have to love it to live it.

On another note, Patrick, your avatars just crack me the hell up bro! I hear you, man! [Smile]

JPLA,

My post, and I am sure Beautifulfeetonline's was not meant to discourage you from giving it a go. If you have the drive and desire, by all means learn the craft and let everyone see what you have. It just so happens that a lot of people think that because MySpace pages were so easy to make a few years ago that a web site is too. And yes, there are stencils and such that some people use from hosting companies or from programs that create websites. Those, however, are far from your best options in my view.

Beautifulfeetonline brought up some really detailed points in his post, but they are some very real things if you want to keep a regular product up and going. I know that aside from those things, a basic-plus understanding of graphic design programs like Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash, etc. are also needed - unless you have someone doing that too. If you're looking to learn those, I fully recommend just taking images and designs and playing with them. Get into the programs and see what they have. As for books to learn them, the Visual Quickstart Guides by Peachpit Press were the ones that helped me the most. Our college instructors would assign these "mechanical" books on the programs that people hated. I always went out and got one of the Quickstart Guides and brought it to class too. My classmates would come up to me after class and ask about the book. Before you knew it, half the class went out and got the same book - especially for the HTML and Flash courses. They're great guides with bulleted instructions, many times they have illustrations or screencaps of what you're doing, and then a box of helpful tips. And if you don't mind paying for a website, Lynda.com has some great video segments to assist with programs like those above too.

Good luck with everything,
Patrick

Interesting post...

There are lots of girls who run their own websites but somebody else did the graphics and gave them a template for the site.
http://roselynnlocks.com/
http://wornbyroselynn.com/
I know Roselynn had help but does the day to day stuff herself...
BUT her site isn't a pay to enter site, it's more of a 'here are the links to buy MyProduct A, MyProduct B, etc.' type site. (Yes, that IS what it's called)

How does one acquire such a template? Do you have to trade panties for it?? [Wink]

JPLA, maybe this sort of site would be a better choice while you're starting off. It will give you time to learn the nuances of design while still making money off ur dirty pics [Fingers Crossed]

I only have a frigging blogger and I'm in over my head man.

BUT, people do it such as 2 people above this post, so find a user-friendly forum on design and all that and give it a go :0
