I'm redesigning footpervert.com and there are not alot of footsites anymore. ...At all. The stockings scene on the other hand is pretty legit.
What happened?
I also have a question. I am thinking about separating beautifulfeetonline into being just a foot and stockings site. taking all of my foot worship stuff and putting it on a new domain.
Is this a good move or...?

Not sure if there aren't as many as before or not. There was indeed a boom of sites that came out all at once and as with anything in life, some stayed and some went. I think many people thought putting up a site was instant money in the bank. I think many of those people switched to having Clips4Sale sites instead as it is less work than a full site. With most people not being webmasters, photographers or models as their full time jobs, it is hard and almost like a second job to keep up with a full site.

P.S. All that said, I have seen some long running sites not updating these days or closing up. I do think there are way more commercial foot sites now though.

I dunno Patrick. There are alot of commercial sites that are recycling content that everyone has seen before. But as far as original content shooters, like myself, or yourself, or the other webmasters on here. Our pond has gotten a little smaller imho.
I don't list recycled content sites on footpervert, maybe why the list is a short one.

I think that the variety of content on a single site is a good thing. Rather than separating it, having all that content in one place brings more traffic and keeps your site patrons more to choose from. Just my thoughts...I've always been a fan of variety.

Having had the experience of opening a site, running it for a few years and having to close it, it depend son many factors. But the biggest one I can think of is: (dare I say it) the economy. I know that no one wants to admit it, but some people have to make a choice if they are going to go out to eat for dinner somewhere or buy a month subscription to a foot site. I know that some site have reduced their prices and there are some charging as much as $29.95 for one month. While that seems fine for some people, that money is better well spent on some good food or a family member's Christmas present.
Also, it helps to be somewhere where girls showing off their feet is a regular thing. Like Patrick up there ^. I bet he lives on a warm weather coast line and sees girls show off their feet daily. Here in the midwest, where it is now winter with rainy days with a high of 40, and the winter gets as cold as the negative digits, keeping foot models is difficult.
If I had the money to get my own dedicated server and such, I'd get my site back up with better content. But money and family came first for me.

Sorry, I didn't read through your whole question.... I wonder if foot fetish has gotten a bad rap recently, like the Rex Ryan thing, caused more people to be distainful from it. I think it would be best to keep the content together. If you separate the site into a stockings and bare feet one, you would have two sites to worry about. This way, you can get foot people and stockings people at the same time.
