From this site:
http://www.dribbleglass.com/subpages/strange/sexlaws.htm

In 17th century Spain, it was illegal for anyone other than a woman's husband to see her bare feet. A woman could freely expose her breasts, but feet were considered sexual and had to be covered in the presence of men other than her husband.

I have mixed feelings about this one. If the US had adopted this and still enforced it, I bet a lot of us here would suffer. >_>

I've always known that female bare feet were considered shocking, in the past!

Pretty wild- feet more sexual than breasts.

Imagine getting stoned to death by the commoners in Seville,Spain if you got caught taking feet pics of random women in the 1600's..{supposing you time travelled I supposed with a camera lol} or..painting a picture of a married woman barefoot.
