I saw this earlier, and loled at Yahoo's headline for it on the main page ("Missy Franklin has really big feet"), but I refrained from posting it here because of her age.

Not saying that I would ever consider touching anything under 18 myself - however, due to some recent concerns with one of my nieces i recently found out that the "age of consent" in many states is quite low. For instance 16 in Virginia. 13 in Arkansas.

Yeah, the AoC here in Michigan is 16. But personally, since I'm 24, 20 is my lower limit.

Age of consent where I live is 17 but, eh... not for me.

However, you guys could do the countdown to her 18th birthday like they did for the Olsen Twins a few years back. What a disappointment they turned out to be. [Laugh]

Well, it used to be the norm a LONG time ago. People used to marry when they were 13 or 14 because life expectancy was like only til 35.

I'd make the countdown to 18 although where I live, the minimun age of consent is 72.
