I've recently moved deeper in southern San San Diego about 15 min. away from the border. The area that I live in is pretty much 80% Hispanic so I've been spotting ALOT of Latinas and networking and passing out my business cards to every pretty feet that I see. Haven't gotten too many replies but I did get one from this gorgeous Latina female who I met at the mall.

A couple of weeks ago I spotted her at her booth and saw her 10 big dark red toes against her tan brown skin. My heart skipped a beat and my legs and my inside felt like they were melting just from a simple glance, MY GAWD!! they were perfect. I actually got nervous but manned up and just went straight for it. I said excuse me and told her about the site and gave her my card with all my info on it and told her to check it out and let me know if she'll be interested. I didn't hear back from her so I thought nothing of it. The following week I went back to that same mall to pick up some sandals for a shoot I was doing with Angelique and I saw her again at her booth. This time she had pale pink nail polish on with brown sandals to match her tan complexion. OMG! [Bow Down] As I'm passing we made eye contact and I went straight for it again. I said excuse me and asked her if she got a chance to check out the website. I told her I think I gave her a business card about a week ago but am not sure. She replied "OH YEAH" you had the pedicure website and said no she didn't check it out and asked for my business card again and we made a little small talk about the site and dollar figures for modeling. I told her she had gorgeous looking toes and that's why I gave her my card and she was smiling and seemed flattered. The next day I got an email from her saying she was interested and gave me her name & number. [Woot] MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

I texted her that day and asked what day she'll be available to do the photos. She said either Wednesdays or Thursdays. I said ok Wednesday would be perfect and so was that. So I texted her Tuesday to see if Wednesday would be good. No reply! [Cry] So the next day I texted her and asked if we're still on for the shoot. She replied and said she had to work that day but Thursday would work. Cool! So I asked her what size she wear so I could pick up some sandals for her to model in and what color she was getting her pedicure because she said she wanted them fresh. She replied with size 8 and she was going to get them red. So on Thursday I texted her to see what time would be good. NO REPLY [Cry] So I let the whole day go by because I thought she may be busy and I just replied "Well if you change your mind and still want to model for the site, then just let me know [Smile] "...

A week has gone by and still nothing. I don't want to keep texting her and filling up her phone with messages because it's obvious she's getting them because she did reply. Just wondering should I just chunk this up as a loss or try emailing her back in like a month to see if she still wants to do it. Would love some advice from owners of website who have experiences with no shows. She was freakin gorgeous and would've been a GREAT addition to my portfolio. Her toes were just unbelievably sexy and don't want this one to pass me up.

I say move on, she will reply when she is ready. Don't want to give her that creepy feeling, she will come around. Until then, thank god its a hot summer here in So Cal and there are plenty of pretty feet in sandals and flip flops.

It's a crusher when you're that close and it seems to be slipping away. I would say lay low and hopefully she'll come to her senses. One thing I definitely know about women is they don't like to be bugged. Just you not texting her for a while will probably get her thinking "hmm...I wonder why that guy stopped asking me to model."

Bye the way, your site has the best feet ever. Man, whatever you're doing keep doing it. Any gal would be delighted by the classy photos on prettypedis.com!

Appreciate the feedback wu fam... I usually think nothing of it and keep it moving. I guess it's one of those situations where you meet a nice girl and can't get her out of your head LOL.. Oh well

I've had my share of flakey ones too, after 3 or so texts or e-mails/PM's whatever I leave it alone and let her chase you if she wants to do it. Sometimes they get "cold feet" {no pun intendid} and play it off like they forgot when really they think it's a crazy idea after all.

The mexican culture seems to breed disdain about feet into their young women at an early age so be lucky she even thought about it. Those kind of girls are the hardest to crack. Where are you like near National City or "Cholo Vista"? lol

HAHA, I'm in National City area right off the 805.. Though I've had a few successful attempts it does seem like latina women are the hardest to crack or be open about it atleast women in my age bracket (mid 20's). I shall succeed in my mission though [Hump]

I say don't come off like you're a stalker. Email her in a few weeks, and if she doesn't respond, move on.

Sounds like she did not take you seriously, and then it turned into too much effort.

Telling her to get back to you later if interested, implies that you're under-qualified and that she probably wouldn't be interested. She promptly forgot about it and didn't even look at your site.

Following up later with cash and texting can come across as needy. These techniques can work in conjunction, but not as a main selling points.

Handing out cards or placing ads is what every other solicitor does. It's too low value to be very effective. 99% of fliers and ads get ignored or end up in the trash.

The most influential factors when it comes to convincing people are your appearance and personality, not so much what is actually asked of them.

The first 2 seconds that she notices your presence is the most critical make or break part. If you're well received, then the rest is easy.

Hmm interesting point yo got there.. I figured she took it as serious since she gave me her number and we were texting back and forth. But just like Norcal mentioned she probably acted like she forgot because of cold feet or thought it was a cooky idea.

I highly doubt she really forgot because it was already arranged and she did mentioned that she was going to the shop the next day to get her feet done right. I only use my card as a tool to approach and engage in conversation so they have a way to remember me by as far as getting in contact with me.

I really don't use it as a way to promote anything. I'm pretty sure some throw it away as I do with every card I get so I get it. Love all you guys feedback. It's real helpful to get others insight and different perspective other than my own

I agree the business card with something official on it with your name, contact info, site info, etc..is great.

Looks and personal approach is only phase 1 with random females in public places. They all want to know where the photos will be going and why you want to shoot their feet.

If they don't question you about your motives, a website or your proposition, you must have slipped a roofie in their drink or they are a zombie. Girls are MUCH smarter than we give them credit for, unless you flat out lie about why you are taking their foot pics. [Laugh]

Hit her up in a week or two, if you don't get a response drop your line off a different side of the pier. PLENTY of fish in the sea of feet. [Wink] [Cheers]

Yeah I was just debating on should I still pursue it or not since everything was pretty much out on the table. I'll take you guys advice and send her a final email later on to see if she's still interested. Sucks to be so close to closing the deal and then "*POOF!" nothing, LOL

And if I do see her at the mall at her booth again because I shop at that mall alot, do I do a stop and chat and say Hi? or do I give her the snub and act like I don't see her? Feels like this should be a Seinfeld episode.

Fantastic advice Good Guy...gold as ever.

I agree with the comment on a high rate of business cards/flyers get chucked.

On a similiar vain, had a discussion with a brick & mortar company owner and he told me they stopped emailing people and went back to mailing letters because people just ignore the emails!

I can see where you are coming from Screwhead with the business cards though...can make you seem more professional and less like a 'freak' so to speak.

I'm out in a dense 'migrant worker' area and I see some fine Central American feet...but I dare not approach any of them...not in the mood to have a bunch of chivatos beating the hell outta the gringo!

In regards to that hot babe you saw...I'd let it go...she might have been flattered, but she might have a boyfriend that wouldn't like her modeling anything, or she wasn't interested and was just being polite. Maybe she'll come back...but I think at this point if you approach her again or keep texting her, she might regret being polite with you!

Good luck and I hope you get some fine bronze feet...love to see it! [Wink]

I can second that getting latinas to talk about feet in South San Diego is difficult.
