My wife has great feet, indulges my foot fetish and wears sneakers without socks to get them smelly. Of course the longer they are worn, the hotter the day, the more they smell. It's not always convenient to wear sneakers (wintertime or non-casual situations).
I would love to find a substitute, or create the real thing by some other means (or at least vastly accelerate the process).

If you google “components of foot odor” you’ll find info, the upshot being: 2 major compenents are isovaleric acid produced by Staphylococcus epidermidis and methanethiol produced by Brevibacteria. The brevibacteria is also what gives cheeses such as Limburger, Bel Paese, Port du Salut, Pálpusztai and Munster their characteristic pungency.

So if any of you are chemists that know what to put together to get a close approximation or have other suggestions, please let me know.

I did find this:
Mosquitoes were attracted to foot odor. Okumu discovered that the stinky smell – which he replicates using a careful blend of eight chemicals – attracts mosquitoes to a trap where they can be poisoned.

From the makers of the Blowup Doll and the Foot pussy, comes eau de pied, dump it all over your foot pussy to enhance your pleasure 10 fold. Seriously, for the amount of work that would go into such an experiment could you not just ask your wife to put her feet under a blanket or sit them on a rad or an electric heater for 10 minutes or something? If the actual woman need not be a part of the equation just hang out at some fancy cheeseshop for the winter and sniff away to your hearts content.

I have a chemistry degree and isovaleric acid has a similar structure to ethanoic acid, hence the vinegar smell you sometimes get off feet. Isovaleric acid in high concentrations can be toxic so its only present in small amounts.

Methanethiol is a sulfur-based hydrocarbon (mercaptan) Its a gas which has a rotten cabbage-smell, its found in cheese, hence the foot smell! This is added to natural gas to give it an odour for detection in case of gas leakage. To make methanethiol, you have to get methanol (deadly) and hydrogen sulfide (poisonous), this is a very expensive process which requires a catlyst.

Maybe you can ask your wife to wear socks until they are very sweaty, say after exercise and squeeze out the sweat into a small glass vial! Very concentrated and smelly! [Wink]

Most interesting topic! I don't have an answer for that, but I'd like to piggyback on what's been said thus far. For those of you who enjoy sniffing your girlfriend's smelly shoes and/or socks...PAY CLOSE ATTENTION: For the longest time I used to think that familiar,"cheesy" aroma would fade over time (AND IT DOES!) but not if you use water. Yes! My ex-girlfriend suggested it. It never occured to me to ask WHO, HOW or even WHY? I just know it works!! [Big Grin]

Nowadays I use an ordinary spray bottle, just in case. For future reference, if you ever come across a pair of flats or sneakers--that just don't smell the way they used to--do what I did. I promise you, they'll SMELL LIKE NEW! (pun intended) [Tongue]

The goal is to to have some kind of liquid, cream etc.. applied to the foot that would enhance or almost fully replace foot odor, and yes the woman needs to be part of the equation. We've tried the heatup method without real results. Is eau de pied real (can't find it online) or are you just kidding? I'll try the water method just before she wears sneakers.
RJFoot - I doubt enough sweat can be produced to extract a liquid. I understand that producing the actual components may be next to impossible, that's why I'm asking about substitutes or existing substances that could mimic the smell. For instance can isovaleric acid be obtained or found in some product?

Eau de pied. Lmao!

Good lord I'm hungover...

Just get her to wear the same socks, dry em out every night, wear them again, repeat. Get the juices flowing!

Some female feet will NEVER have any odor because of their individual body chemistry. MY wife has NO foot odor EVER. She can wear any type of shoe, with or without hose or socks. Her feet can be wringing wet or completely dry. It doesn't make any difference. She has even tried wearing the same hose and socks for a week. No odor at all. She has tried everything to make them smell. She even bathed in the tub with her feet hanging outside for a week.. Same results. We have given up so I just enjoy that she loves having her feet worshiped and licked and I just consider myself a very lucky man.

This cracks me up. Perhaps when you guys figure out the formula you can patent it into a little spray bottle for chicks to spritz on their tootsies that are scentless. Lala would surely jump start the business by ordering a case. [Laugh]

The thing you brought up about the mosquitoes is also interesting. We were just talking about mosquito bites the other day and she said she was never bothered by them EVER. No scent on the feet does have benefits if that is true.

Hey RJFoot, any ideas about how to get the components?

To my detractors (who ARE fans of foot odor): You actually think this is a dumb idea?!! I don't know the real percentage of Foot Fetish guys who are into foot odor, but I expect it's above 80%. Do you honestly think most of them wouldn't love something like this? Of course they would!

....I am a believer in, what ever is natural is good for me...My girls feet have the sweetest smell( it's a very faint smell) but I don't think that I would want to spray anything on them to enhance this...I am more turned on by whatever is natural...Smelly or not...AS LONG AS IT'S NATURAL...
