Since its so early in the NHL season, only a few games in I think nows a good time to make some predictions on who's going to make the playoffs and win the Stanley cup. I'm going to go first with saying the top 5 teams i think that will win the stanley cup this year.

1. Ottawa Senators
2. Buffalo Sabres
3. Detroit Redwings
4. New Jersey Devils
5. Anaheim Ducks

I would of liked to put my team toronto on there but thats not very realistic [Cry]

Since the Ducks already won a Cup, I could care less if they repeat...I'll always support SoCal teams, but in the end, I pick a side, and I've always thrown my lot in with the Kings as far as hockey goes (baseball its the Dodgers, and basketball its the Lakers). Traditionally, I've never liked New York teams, but the Rangers have never bugged me as much as other New York teams, plus they've got my boy Scott Gomez (I wish the Kings could have gotten him, a Mexican guy playing in L.A. would have been one of the top stories out here, even if it is hockey), so I have a feeling the Rangers will do some good things this year. Don't know if they're enough of a team yet to pull it out though, but they'll go deeper than last year, make the Stanley Cup Finals even.

It'll probably be Detroit getting the Western Conf. title, against either the Rangers or the Senators. If a Canadian team plays against anyone who aren't the Kings in the finals (or even the Ducks), then I'll pull for the Canadian team.

I'm still an Edmonton Oilers fan, though I don't know why after they basically gutted the team over the last 2 years. Watching Ryan Smyth in tears after being traded was heartbreaking. *sigh*

There is only one Hockeytown, USA - Stevie Y is a legend - not only for his loyalty, but also he was driving a 911 at 18.

Yep, the beloved Oil of ours are pretty much right where I thought they would be at the beginning of the season...

But I would rather watch a group of healthy players take the ice full time than wishing and waiting and hoping that Smytty is going to come back and play much like the Avalanche are finding out this season with him.

I think Kevin Lowe made the right move. He is going to be injured more often than he is going to play for the rest of his career and I can't see him being worth the kind of money that he was demanding.

[Cool]
