Since the most anticipated sporting even on the planet is less than a week from now, I'd figure we should talk about the game in a different form.
If anyone in here has some Superbowl trivia questions, you are welcomed to submit them here.
Here's one I'd like to throw out there to get us in preparation for the event:
Q: Who was the ONLY quarterback in SuperBowl history to throw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter?
posted
That would be Jim Kelly in Super Bowl XXVI for the Buffalo Bills against the Washington Redskins. Sadly, they were meaningless, since the Redskins had already built a commanding 37-10 lead by the time Kelly led the Bills to two nothing touchdown drives. The Redskins eventually won 37-10.
Here's a question:
Who was the first non-white head coach to lead a team to the Super Bowl, which game was it, and what team did he coach?

Q: What NFL teams have not yet played in a Super Bowl?
A: Texans, Browns, Jaguars, Saints, Lions.
--
Q: What Super Bowl was not a sell out?
A: I'm guessing the AFL vs. NFL Championship (Superbowl I).
--
Q: What stadium has hosted the Super Bowl the most number of times?
A: I was going to say Miami with 9 or ten, including next year. But you asked which STADIUM has hosted the most superbowls?
I was going to give up on that question until I remember the Superdome in New Orleans. I HATE that stadium. It should be updated. I'm not sure how many it hosted, but the most recent was Superbowl XXXVI.
--
Q: There have been 6 Super Bowl winning QBs who did NOT throw a TD pass in the games which they won. Who are they, and in which games?
I can only name Joe Namath in Superbowl III. Perhaps someone can help me out here.
I'll try to get to the others later.

Here's a question for everyone:
What was the first Super Bowl in which the winning points came on the FINAL play?
posted
The answer to National's question is Super Bowl XXXVI, where Adam Vinatieri kicked the game winning field goal in the expiring seconds of the game to win it for the Patriots.
He also got my first three questions right, as the Superdome has hosted the Super Bowl more times than any other venue, the very first game drew only about 63,000 (in a stadium that could hold upwards of 90,000+), and the teams he listed are the only teams never to have reached the Super Bowl.

Which Superbowl was the second-most watched television program of ALL TIME in the United States?
(Second to the Series Finale of M*A*S*H which aired on February, 1983)
I would think the answer is Superbowl XLII. Last year's Superbowl. Think about what was at stake in that game. History was going to be made regardless who won. Either the Patriots finish perfect, or the Giants pulling off the insurmountable. The biggest upset since Superbowl III.
So that would be my final answer.

I've got one for everyone. Which team became the first team to have their city/state location painted in their end zone for a Super Bowl?
Let me explain this. The Arizona Cardinals will become the second team to have this, as their end zone will read Arizona Cardinals. For all other Super Bowl teams, end zones have just featured the team nickname.
It was also asked who was the first NON QB to throw a touchdown pass. The answer is wide receiver Antwaan Randle El in Supebowl XL.

Superbowl XLII is the correct answer.

I forgot to mention one other thing. When I asked what was the first Super Bowl in which the winning points came on the FINAL play?, Salvy_Mic answered Superbowl 36. He got that right.
To answer Jensen's other question, my answer is the Seattle Seahawks in Superbowl XL. They had their city and the name of its team painted in their end zone. That was a VERY good question.

Congrats, man!
You have to admit that the Fitzgerald touchdown took some air out of your lungs. But the last two superbowls showed that 2 minutes and change is a LOT of time to play before regulation is over.
I will have to admit, however, that I was rooting for the Cardinals. I would've been nice to see Kurt Warner really cement his hall of fame candidacy with that win.
But credit will have to be given to where its due. The Steelers are the best football team in the world.
