I hope the Colts and the Saints face each other just so I don't have to hear about those smug-ass '72 Dolphins anymore. It would be the biggest Super Bowl matchup ever. One of the game's top 5 QBs ever and his potent offense against America's real team and their potent offense. It'll be fireworks in Miami if it should happen. Bet the over, for sure.

However, I did NOT like how the Superbowl turned out. I HATE the Saints, Drew Brees, that little girl they showed talking to Shannon Sharpe during the countdown to the game, and the Who Dat nation. I hated the feel-good stories that led up to the event concerning the aftermath of hurricane Katrina and how the people were coping with that. I wanted Manning to hit 'em harder than that hurricane did.
That match was tailor made for the Colts to win. When that onside kick happened, I got that sick feeling that things were going to fall apart from there. That was the second-most nauseating football game I've seen in my life.
Peyton is still a Hall of Famer, but that loss will put a hurt to his legacy somewhat. It has to. Because had he won it, Johnny Unitas would've appeared out of nowhere and hoisted the Lombardy Trophy with him and Peyton would've been in the same breath as the other greats of the game.
I'm not a big believer in God, but if the guy exists, he was not on the Colts' side. All I heard for the last two weeks were stories about how New Orleans was trying to rebuild from that disaster and how the Saints win will help lift the spirits of the town. I saw stories of New Orleans natives crying when they were thinking about Katrina, and all that other nonsense I could care less for. The more of that I saw those, the more I had that feeling that the Saints could actually pull it off. It was one of those feelings that was inevitable. It was that feeling that the Saints were going to win no matter what the Colts did.
It's all ridiculous, but the Saints outplayed the Colts. Plain and simple.

I'm glad the Saints won because no one really gave them a shot. All the hype went to Peyton this, Peyton (legacy) that, Dwight Freeny's ankle--great DE I may add--and the Colts will win by 15+ points, etc. After 40 years of playing; struggling up the hill (trying to find yourself); and being the butt of all football jokes; to finally win the big one is a BIG DEAL. Congrats, Saints. Well deserved. You truly earned the right to be called a Champion.
