With the bullshit stoppage going into the 3rd round, Fedor has lost to "Bigfoot" Silva, and with that 2nd loss he has said in the post fight interview that he is probably done fighting.

Congratulations Strikeforce and M1 Global, you have taken a legend out of the sport, all in the name of money.

are you shitting me?!?! bullshit stoppage??? the guy looked like he was hit by a bus and couldnt even see out of his right eye!!! he couldnt do a thing against silva and all that would have happened if it went to a 3rd round would have been more of his ass getting handed to him. besides, no one forced him to say anything! you think strikeforce wanted him out?! he is their BIGGEST draw! who's going to suffer the most? strikeforce! the only people you could label greedy were m1-global for demanding that their organization partner with strikeforce which is the only reason he wasnt in the UFC.. but after seeing his performance saturday night, it's no loss. i was thoroughly unimpressed.

it might be the end of a legend but only because his time has come.

I know nothing about MMA, but still...dude lost two fights and he's contemplating retirement.

Seriously? C'mon, man!

The reason I call bullshit on the stoppage is due to seeing Koscheck have his orbital bone broken in the 1st round and was able to fight 4 more rounds...

Update to the original post, apparently his translator effed up and she meant "go back to Russia to relax for a while" Fedor is fighting in the World Sambo chamipionships in 10 days!! Now he is going to be an alternate for the rest of the Grand Prix should any of the fighters become "injured"...just making SF look more and more shady..

compare:
Kos: http://www.5thround.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/JoshKoscheckEye.jpg

Fedor: http://www.mmaopinion.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Untitled.png

ok, now compare. Koscheck had alot of swelling but clearly we could see his eye which means he could see out of it although obviously in a reduced fashion. Fedor, on the other hand, had no hint that was even an eye behind all that swelling. the guy's eye was sunk behind that massive swelling and there was no way he could see anything. the stoppage made total sense. once again, i have no idea why this would make strikeforce shady. they'd love to have had fedor breeze through silva and go on to win the whole thing so they could tout fedor as being a rival to cain or whomever is champion when the grand pix is done.

Well played sir [Smile]
I honestly didn't think Fedor's eye was that swollen shut and thought Koscheck's eye was totally fucked, thanks for scrounging up the evidence!

Just don't get how he gets to become an alternate...he could potentially lose the next fight then someone gets injured and BAM! back in..right?

yep.. and this totally backs up my belief that SF wants and NEEDS him involved in their organization. he is THE biggest name and i bet they paid a pretty penny to have him. it doesnt surprise me at all they name him as an alternate. it's really unheard of to do something like this either. back in the early days of the UFC, they'd have tournaments that lasted one nite and the winning fighter might have had to fight 3 fights in nite to win. way too often the winning fighters were too injured or just plain old tired to move on so they took someone who lost earlier in the nite to move on and it wasnt unusual for the winner of the nite to have been eliminated in a previous fight.

Fedor has been in a similar situation when he fought in Pride against Crocop. Only difference was the ref in Pride let Fedor continue and Fedor won the fight, so I can understand where Bluetoelover is coming from, saying it was a bullshit stoppage. There were many times when he was getting his ass whooped and some how came back and submitted them or K.O.'d them. Despite losing 2 in a row, I still consider him the best HW.

As for Fedor saying he might be done, I don't think he's lost the skill to beat fighters now. It may just be age or he may not have the desire as when he was in Pride. But he definately has the skill to beat anyone today.
