Looks okay to me... oil is a motivation behind alot of our country's politics. I thought it was irritating that Iraqis can buy it for 5 cents a gallon. Sure, the oil supply is right there, but it still has to be refined for use. The sooner we have to drive around in electric cars, the better off we'll be!

You would think that the hurricane catastrophy would be the "wake up call" the turkeys in Washington need to get off their fat, rich, self-centered asses and get into action! What more do those clowns need for them to DO SOMETHING about the price of gas!?!? The thing that ticks me off the most is that when the gas price intially was flirting with the $2.00 a gallon mark in the U.S. a little over 5 years ago, the government stepped in and did something about it. Now, here it is ready to go up to, and probably exceed, $3.00 a gallon by the time all is said and done and no one is stepping in and doing something about it! It's like to the point where they need a major revolt or protest to get their attention before they will do something about it. And, to top it all off, the government released news yesterday that the amount of people living in poverty has just risen again for the 5th straight year or something like that. Let the gas prices keep climbing you a-holes!!!! And wait and see how much that poverty percentage increases next year!

Sorry for venting... I just had to get that off my chest.

You think you are paying too much for gas when the numbers can't fit on the sign [Nut Kick] [Mad] -

I started driving in 2001, which wasnt too long ago. I was paying .88 for regular, .99 for super, and 1.14 for premium. 4 years later Im paying more than triple?? Wonder which president was in office those years that gas more than tripled. *Sigh*. Cant do anything about it but take it. Sucks, but you cant do anything about it, and I laugh at these "Dont buy gas on September 1st!!" efforts. I had to have seen at least 2 people at every gas station on the way to school today, which is a 50 mile commute both ways in a truck. I used to spend 120-130 dollars a month in gas. Now im spending 240-250. Sucks how the middle class and the lower class have to take this hit. If you're barely making it as it is, how are you supposed to afford another 50 or 100 dollars in gas every month? Or even more depending on your choice of car. I refuse to buy a hybrid car, but God. Come on Washington. A frustrated and depressed Mystik signing out.

It is high time that we stop bending over and taking this all up the a$$.

This whole thing smells of collusion to me, which in most countries is actually punishable by law, except if you are one of the many a$$holes who are making the laws.

To me it goes hand in hand, the government gets rich off of oil revenues, the oil companies get rich off of oil revenues and the consumer is the dumb idiot that pays the ultimate price...

But there are a few things that we can actually do aside from not buying gas for a day, which really and truly does not help one bit as sooner or later, if you drive a vehicle, you will need to fuel it somehow...

We have to stop buying SUV's and start making smarter choices on the consumption of fuels.

We have to vote for the guy that is going to push the alternative fuels stand, as we as a whole are the only ones who are going to change anything.

If we leave it up to all the dumbass politicians who just care about lining their own bank accounts soon we will think that $10.00 per gallon gasoline is cheap!

Now to go dig my bike out of the back of the garage...

Since myself and alot of my friends own diesel pickups, we are gonna start brewing BIOdiesel for $0.70/gallon..i myself had to give up a decent business when i lived in Texas because the fuel prices got out of control. I hope they find a quick alternative for gasoline as well..this is out of hand! [Mad]

This is f****** insane! The establishment is definitely trying to break us in half and they really don't care if we suffer. [Cry] The government needs to step up and stop this madness. We only get heard when it is an election. By the way, when are the elections, again? Oh yeah, roughly 2.5 years out. Hang in there because that is all we can do right now. [Fingers Crossed]

Hey, don't worry people.

Petrol isn't a renewable source.
As such, we must spend as much as we can while it lasts [Smile]

Once it is over, no more gas price problems [Smile]

Amen Sasha,
I'm glad I don't own any SUVs! My chevelle is bad enough at 10 mpg but then again it's 35 years old and was built in an era when gas was virtually free. This is definitely not the best of times to own a Hummer.

I don't know where all you are from, buy here in Canada(Ontario) we were paying $1.35 a litre right after the Katrina disaster. To put that in real terms it's over $5 a gallon, and 39% of that is taxes. We're all getting hosed.

My irritation with it isn't the fact that they raise prices, it's that they are constantly raise prices over the most limp-dick excuses. Of course, IF prices go back down, they never drop all the way back to their levels before the price hike. It's always something like this:

April - "We have to raise prices because of all the Easter travel"
May - "We have to raise prices because of all the Memorial Day Weekend/Mother's Day travel"
June - "We have to raise prices because of the summer travel."
July - "We have to raise prices because of the 4th of July travel."
September - "We have to raise prices because of the Labor Day weekend travel."

Then of course in November there's Thanksgiving, and December there's Christmas.

Granted, hurricanes in the Southern states have had a legit impact on gas prices, but they were soaring even before the storm hit. I drive as little as possible and the more I can avoid it, the more I can smile about depriving oil companies of padding their profit margins.
