Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Feb. 11 would mark the demise of “the liberal capitalist system,” adding that its champion, America, was on the decline and that Iran and its Islamic Revolution were on the rise.
According to a Jan. 28 translation from BBC Monitoring Middle East, Ahmadinejad spoke on official Iranian television, saying that this year’s “Ten Days of Dawn” celebration, marking the anniversary of the country’s Islamic Revolution, would see the “demise” of the American system.
“I believe that 22 Bahman [ February 11 in the Persian calendar] this year marks the demise of the liberal capitalist system.” Ahmadinejad said.
Has anyone else heard about this? Is it more sabre rattling from these nut jobs or are they ready to strike Israel? Israel did threaten Iran with nukes a few days ago & sanctions are coming down on Iran as well.

Yes, I did read about Ahmadinejad's ravings. Apparently Khomeni is mirroring the claim. Both are nut cases and believe that they are to usher in the Muslim version of the second coming of Christ.
Guess all we can do is wait and see what happens if anything...

Oh shit that's today!!! Wait, did he say what year? Perhaps its another 1000 years in the future in which case I don't think anyone living on the planet at this moment should worry too much about it.

UPDATE: TEHRAN/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday Iran was close to enriching uranium nearly pure enough for atomic bombs but the United States was dismissive, saying he spoke to rally government supporters on the Islamic revolution's 31st anniversary.
I think a war in the region is coming.

uh, yeah..if he claims they are able to enrich to 80%.. and 90% is nuke bomb grade then we SHOULD worry and not 1000 years from now..this is real time. We should have skipped Iraq and Afghanistan and went directly to Iran.

Agreed. Tough sanctions until they starve & if that doesn't work turn it into a parking lot.

Yeah it's being played down in the media but last month the US increased submarines, aircraft carriers and destroyers in the Gulf.
