I really need to get this off of my chest. This is bothering me.
I am a member of a few message boards around the foot community. The moderator of one board in particular (definitely not Wu's I assure you) is excessively anal about his guidelines on what he considers "SPAMming". To me, SPAM is repeated posting of unwanted or off topic advertisements (like junk mail). To this moderator, SPAM is anything more than mentioning the name of any website other than his own.
I posted a link to my web site in my signature and he removed it...SPAM!
I mentioned the name of a website that closed a few years ago (Beautiful Bare Feet, no link, just the name) and he deleted it...SPAM!
I mean, WTF?!?! I'd have more freedom of speech in a communist country.
Am I out of line here? Not only does he remove my message, but he replaces it with his own message accusing me of SPAMming his message boards. Gimme a stinkin' break!

Haha, I know a similar messageboard but it`s even worse. I have been banned there twice for absolutely nothing! The two guys running it also ran the Third Reich, I think
No, seriously, it`s just not worth getting high blood pressure over this. Just forget it and leave that messageboard...there will always be asshole moderators and it can`t be changed. Maybe starting your own forum could be a solution...?

Actually Hal, the moderator is a pretty cool guy. I've been in contact with him on and off over the past few months, and I have no gripes with him otherwise. I think he has an obsessive compulsive fetish for the word SPAM...LOL!
His definition is:

That's just extremely selfish if you ask me. No links to sites other than his without his consent. I'm glad it's not like that here at Wu's.
Posting a link to a website isn't SPAM. Mentioning the name of a website isn't SPAM. Mentioning the name of a CLOSED website is certainly not SPAM.
I have little time and interest to start my own message board. If I did, my first post would be:

I've had enormous posts that took hours to compile deleted from beerfarts because one of the moderators thought the porn wasn't "of high enough quality"
Low people in high positions in low places are subject to huge power tripping. I wouldn't worry about it, just stop contributing if the're going to be like that.

You know what guys... All of us posting on this thread better edit our sigs because it looks like we're the biggest spammers that ever spammed by that other board's spamming definition!

UPDATE: I got BANNED from the forums today! If I'm going to get kicked out of a "forum" for speaking my mind, then I don't need to be a part of BS like that.
Just call me "Sir Bondo of Spam-A-Lot".
EDIT: I believe I got banned because I used the words "my site" in a post (no link, no name, just "my site"). Someone made a comment about enjoying the photos of Mrs Bondo's feet, so I told him that's why they're on my site, for people to enjoy.

I chatted with the moderator to get some closure on why he banned me.
He makes money from sponsors via traffic directed to them from his site. He believes I was conspiring to steal his traffic. He was threatened and he outed me.
I'm insulted and hurt, more by his reasoning than his actions.

Fuggem! BTW why not clue us in on that site? Perhaps if you had a banner link back to his forum he would've not been so ready to ban your spamming ass!!!
You've been in this game too long to be insulted and hurt for more than 30 seconds anyway I do believe!

The only reason I'm not naming the site is because I don't want to discredit them or persuade people to take sides. Also, negative publicity is still publicity. I haven't asked them to promote my site, and they haven't asked me to promote theirs.
I respect their decision to enforce their own rules; however, they should have more clearly stated their rules because in my opinion, naming a closed website or using the phrase "my site" is not SPAMming by definition. I've been mislabeled.
They reinstated my forum membership. The only reason I accepted it is to prove to them that I am a better person than they make me out to be. It's the only way because they don't believe me otherwise. I despise getting the "I told you so" attitude when it's not deserving.
And LeDaemon, I was actually insulted for 31 seconds...LOL! I went from shocked, to insulted, to "WTF?!", to acceptance, back to "WTF?!", then to "whatever". I'm still shaking my head over it.
