Sure, I find spare change every now and then on the ground....found a dollar once in an automated-cashier bill dispenser, but I found $20 bucks in a store parking lot once....who else had found, if not maybe more than that??

Years ago at a gas station I found a wallet with close to $300 cash in it with no ID, or anything else in it. It was one of those cheap fabric velcro fold over ones that probably belonged to some kid and held all his money he had been saving for for a year.
I turned it in to the attendant at the gas station, but my guess is he probably just pocketed the cash. Nothing much else I could've done except kept the cash myself I guess, but I would've felt guilty about it.

When I was about 17, I found a wallet on the ground at the local shopping mall which had $60 in it. It had I.D and credit cards and stuff so I went to the post office, bought a bubbled envelope and appropriate stamps, pocketed the rest of the dough and posted the wallet back to the owner....

Aside from finding money in my own clothes. Here is a URL in CA to find money that I got from my atty. It is secure and run by CA gov't. You can search on an estate, parent, yourself, etc. Money can be in the form of anything from overpaid car insurance premiums, state benefits or overpaid taxes. Sorry to be serious, but hopefully there is plenty out there for all of you. Pension plans are required by ERISA to turn any plan monies to the state if they are unable to reach any participant after a certain number of tries. Peace!

My brother and I found $100 in a mall at closing time. It was just rolled/folded up by the door. Our natural instincts told us to turn it in, but even my dad at the time was saying if it doesn't get claimed, you best bet someone at the mall is getting $100.
Later on I found about $80 in a farm store parking lot. Same deal, just folded up with no wallet or anything.

Quite a few times, actually. Apart from the random 10 or 20 Euro bill or some coins here and there, I once found 500 DM (about $300) on a fun fair as a kid...about ten years later on the same fair I found a purse with 200 DM. About five years ago I found a purse with over 300 Euros in a public bathroom.

I remember as a kid once me and my friend found a 20$ bill outside a bingo hall! Me and him "lived like kings" for the rest of that day! Those were the days..having $20 meant you were "rich"! Best place to find money by far is a night club...lots of drunk people dropping bills EVERYWHERE's!! Especially around closing time..and no I dont feel guilty picking it up and pocketing it...because it was more than likely some drunk college kid who is living off of mommy and daddy's wallets.

One time when I moved from Connecticut to NJ, my parents had a dispute with a bank that we all had some money in. I had thought the bank had taken all the money from a joint account my mom and I had to settle the dispute. Five years later, I got a letter from the bank saying I had $840 in "Unclaimed money" sitting in an account in their bank, and that I had 30 days to claim it. So, I called the bank, submitted ID, and documentation, and, less than a month later, I had an $840 check. It wasn't a wallet on the ground, but, I'd say that to end up with $840 left over from what we thought had been a seized account, wasn't a bad outcome.

Not a whole lot to brag about but have found a little over a dollar in change on the ground at a few parking meters in the last week that have been forgotten about in the cold snow and are starting to show now that the weather is actually above freezing (but not by much.
