I just read in local magazine in beer ratings. I have a really short beer range and in my whole life so far and have only had about 8 different kinds of beer. I have stuck to only a couple for years and never tried others..... So I thought I'd spread my wings and try all I can that is brewed in this country and imports....
Any of you tried any new beers lately and If you can give us a lil' review and a mark outta 10 please?... Plus what is your beer or standard beer you usually buy?..

I just had a Becks Dark. It was pretty good, but as far as dry stouts are concerned, Murphy's is my favorite. (Yuengling traditional lager is my standby, I get a lot of Sam Adam's varieties, Magic Hat, and Belgians too)
Beck's Dark gets a 7. I'll call the Murphy's a 9.5.

I think I had a can of Keystone while playing a game of Asshole last week. Surprisingly, I prefer Keystone (cheap as it is) to Coors Light and MGD, so I'll rate it a 6.
I'm actually a dark beer drinker myself, and I'd love me some Guinness right now.

My beer preference is usually for Mexican imports like Corona Extra or Dos Eques. Just add a bit of salt and lime and I'm a happy boy. I rate those an 8 on my pallette. English Bass Ale or a Guiness if I need something a bit darker and bitter. I don't drink very much or often, but I prefer imports to any American beer.

Yeah, with me, if I have to drink light colored beers, I like Coronas and Heinekens. There's also a Salvadoran beer out there that I really like called Pilsener. Ironically, it's more a lager than a pilsner.

Where to begin! I'll make a list for my top 5's of Beers
Top 5 Canadian: 1. Alpine 2. Molson Canadian 3. Labatt Blue 4. Kokanee 5. Schooner
Top 5 Import 1. Budweiser 2. Old Milwaukee 3. Guiness 4. Kilkenny 5. Corona
There is a few that didnt make "the List". It depends on the occasion also..for relaxing after work I grab a can of Alpine...for "shotgunning" I grab a Molson Canadian Cold Shot...it has a slim can design and they even put a target on the bottom of the can to puncture the can to shotgun it plus its 6%...on a good night I can handle shooting 7..for dark beers Guiness takes the cake..although back in my home province of PEI there is a brewery there that brews 5 different beers...from dark to light beer. Murphy's Alehouse is it's name..if anyone happens to travel there for vacation hit it up for a tour.."open sampling" for 10$Cdn!

Well..it shouldnt be really considered an "import" persay because it is brewed up in Canada to help cut down the shipping costs from the US... so I'll replace the bud with Pilsner.

Don't any of you guys have local microbrews in your towns? The last beer I had was Stoudts Gold and it rates an 8. The bars I go to(in Philly) have lots of great local beer on tap. Plus there's a beer distributer nearby(within stumbling distance) that has craft beers/microbrews from all over the country and the world! In my opinion, those other beers you all mentioned can't even compare. Laedemon, maybe back in the 70's all American beer sucked, but these days tons of award winning beer is brewed right here in the U.S.A.! DRINK LOCAL! Sorry if I come off like a beer snob. I'll certainly drink Miller Highlife or PBR at a party if its offered to me.

There's a few local restaurants here in my area that have their own micro breweries in them. They serve a nice brew that's dark and rich in flavor.
I'm really not a big drinker. If I buy a six pack once every couple of months it may take me a week to finish it off. A good friend of mine told me if he ever has to have his liver removed he wants to use mine as a replacement. Heh heh...

No microbreweries near me as far as I know... However, I've always loved trying new beers. It's almost a hobby. I Recently joined a beer of the month club and just got my first shipment. They provide hard-to-find beers from the U.S. and throughout the world. The most recent one I tried was a Pilsner from Belgium called Bavik Premium Pilsner. I don't usually like Pilsners, but this one was fantastic - a definite 10.
Other than that, I love Guinness, Sam Adams (all different brews), Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale, Highland Gaelic Ale, and Strongbow Cider (not a beer, I know, but it's very good)

I've just had "Carlsberg Beer".. I think it's brewed here but under the licence of Copenhagen of Denmark...
This danish number is very smooth and goes down easy and it has a refreshing after-taste sorta like bitin' into an apple... I would call this an upper class beer... Not for the rugged hairy men from the bush Just kiddin', this is a good relaxer after work...
I give it a 9/10
