Has anyone seen this new PSP Go? For more money you can get all these awesome features:
- $250 out of your pocket (that's only $50 less than a Blu Ray playing PS3) - smaller screen - no ability to play your current game titles as it has no game input - all games must be downloaded (which means bye bye to GameFly, used game stores, etc for your PSP) - disconnects on the wireless that cause you to have to start your downloads from scratch again - data is not saved - system cannot do anything while a download is in process - game downloads can take about an hour or so average - 16 GB internal storage, but only 14 GB is usable to start because of system software (which will be added to with each upgrade to the software) - buying memory cards to store games on to save internal memory space - no ability to play the mini PSP compatible DVDs
Now, I'm not an overly big fan of handhelds at all. The only one I ever played the hell out of was my Sega Game Gear ages ago. The Gameboy Advance I had wasn't even backlit and I had to have a 20 pound light attached to it with a glare and then they introduce the backlit SP. I bought a DS Lite, special Zelda Edition one just because I wanted to play some Zelda games, but other than them, the libraries are lamesauce to me.

Great review Patrick. I was looking at one last night and wondered if they could play downloaded movies for when I travel and I have those god awful long flights.
I am going to guess NO and not worth the money. I have a PS3 for BlueRay and some games like RockBand....you should see me drum...lol

Heehee... Rockband and the like are games I have never even tried. Music class was always a loss for me, so it hasn't peeked a slight interest at all for me.

I think the PSP-GO is an ugly lookin' thing as I do not need an extra step to flip it up to play.
I have the old PSP-fat and it does me fine. I don't use discs and have an older firmware running in it. I convert all my movies and tv-programs into the compatible mp4 format to view on the go. I also have MAME, Genesis, Segamaster System emulators running in it too. It's sorta like the one-stop-shop for me
I would like to upgrade to the slim version for the light-weight and the AV out so hoping in future to hook it up to a set of video-glasses.
