I have an idea here that I feel is substantial which would be to have a view count associated with each thread...the big way that this helps is someone's thread goes down to the next page with 0 replies it will at least say like 37 views and those with reply-less threads won't feel as bummed out.

what if it's a pic thread and it has zero replies but 100 views?
won't that bum them out more knowing that 100 people viewed their pics but nobody liked them enough to comment?

And to tackle your question that would bum someone out for sure, but that could be the same equivalency of someone posting their feet pics that blow through with only 3 or 4 comments. Basically comments and comment count can tell the popularity of pics in the threads....view count would offer an additional method to see how your pics are doing...someone with zero comments might feel better if they know they at least had 100 views.

Yeah...but people could put an interesting title and horrific pics...so it's a bit unfair on those of whom get more comments. Like those earwax and snot-eating pics...I mean how many bastards looked at that!? - I'm saying quite a few - but no one seemed to like it (or at least admit to liking it).

I'm sure the titles will justify the view count...then again the editing thread feature may counteract that Andy-Laa...I'm just pushing it because I feel it offers more interactivity.

If you get a 100 views but only 5-10 people respond, one will feel bummed out. Feelings of jealousy will occur because another person will post a topic in where the ratio of views to comments posted will be much greater than others.
Not a good idea at all. More interactivity is good but this idea should not be implemented.
Didn't someone else bring up that same concern? Most people will think along the same lines with the same concerns that "Michael Pittsburgh" and Myself are questioning.
This idea really stinks and it's a recipe for jealousy up and down the forum.

i can see where your coming from A&F - i get a fair few people (in chat partic) that say the enjoyed my posts etc, yet they dont comment. some because they dont know what to say, others just dont feel the need.
i agree that it could be potentially upsetting though. to see lots of people have viewed the pictures and not bothered to comment would bum me out a little.
i can see your point of view, but there might be a better way of doing it. i liked the 'like' button suggestion one has to consider the effort that goes into setting that up tho

And another idea that may be more feasible......the option of showing members of this site that are currently logged on...with granting the members permission to turn on or turn off the feature. It would definitely give heavy momentum to the chatroom here.
