Hot rods. American muscle cars. I'm a drag racer. I have a Chevy vega with a 468 c.i. big block that runs 10.70's in the quarter mile. I'm also currently building a '66 Chevelle race car because the vega is being sold (I never liked vega's, why do I own one?), but my goal is to build a '32 ford coupe or something similar.

My favorite quality car is Mercedes, but since it will be a cold day in hell that I can afford one, I would spend my money on ANY American car to keep my dollars here!

Hi Neo. That's not exactly true anymore. Both Ford & GM have merged with japanese auto companies (Mazda & Isuzu), so allot of any money spent on their vehicles goes over there. If a guy wants to spend his hard earned cash on an American made vehicle these days, he's better off buying a Nissan, Toyota, or Honda as up to 90% of those vehicles are manufactured in the U.S. vs. Ford or GM, which are about 50-70% american. (Nissan, Toyota & Honda have very large manufacturing plants in the U.S. which employ allot more americans than Ford or GM) Daimler Chrysler is a different story though. Although they have merged with Daimler-Benz, mostly all money spent for Chrysler products stay here. I work in the automotive R & D industry so I hear this stuff every day. It's unfotunate, but it's true & it pisses me off!

My daily driver is a Mazda3 hatch. I love it to death. On the good days, and when its just me and one person, the snake comes out.

I love the RX-7 because of its unique rotary engine. That engine has a high rev limit and very high horsepower potential. I had a 2nd gen RX-7 that I wrecked within a year. I'm older now and my wife won't let me get another sports car until our 6yr old son is a grown man or I change my driving habits.

RX-7s are cool. Most sports cars have a uniqueness to them.
RX-7: Rotary, silent and quick.
Supra: Looks amazing, decent room as a 2+2.
Porsche 911: Ass-engine nazi car. Its cool, great handling and excellent brakes.
Lamborghini Murcialago: Considering the fact that Feruccio Lamborghini originally built tractors, this is damn good!
Dodge Viper: American muscle, killer brakes, razor sharp handling, timeless appearance.

Top End would be a Lamborghini Murcialago.
What I really want is (dreamer )....
97 Honda Prelude with the 2.2litre engine removed. Replaced by a 3.5litre Vtec turbo'd out from an NSX.....

Damn, why did you guys dig up this old thread???
I've never really give much thought to cars anymore except as a tool to get me back and forth to work. All I care about now is something that gets good gas mileage and is low maintenance.
