i keep hearing about it but no one ever says what it is?? what does it do?whats there purpose ?

The term "blog" is basically just shorthand for "weblog", which is a website that is sort of like a diary in that it contains dated entries. Anybody can add their own entry to the blog which could contain comments, pictures, etc based on whatever the theme of that particular blog is. Here's a great example of a blog where the intention is the sharing of foot fetish content. As you can see, the entries are all individually dated, and people can feel free to leave comments or content of their own.
