Hi this is kind of foot related ! I have a massed quite a few foot vids..From fm concepts, Barefoot confidential etc. I would like to convert them so that i may put them on dvd.So that i can watch them on a tv ( Not a pc one ) I am after any advice on converting the files...Avi, And mpeg format

To avoid confusing you with too much technical terminology I ll say a few words what you need to convert your video files (either AVI or MPG) to DVD compatible dics played by DVD players.

1. You need to convert all these videos to MPEG-2. Therefore you have to Author them with a DVD-converting Software. MPEG-2 is the standard format for making DVD discs. A very popular and successful (for me) combo software is the TEMPEng Studio found here----> http://www.pegasys-inc.com/

2.Then, after you have created all these videos into MPEG-2 video format you ll have to Author them into DVD, which means that this DVD-Authoring has to convert them into VOB file, readable by your DVD player. You ll find the DVD-Authoring software called "TEMPEng-Xpress" in the abovementioned Studio pack. Both video and audio are being converted at the same time.

3.Finally, you ll have a set of VOB files which should be burned into a DVD disc. You just burn them with your favourite DVD burning software.

That's it.

If you have Nero it should convert the files automatically before burning it, at least it does when burning VCD's.

I bought a little gadget from Pinnacle called Dazzle, which connects from your VCR to your PC to be able to capture what's on your TV to your computer. It comes with top of the line DVD making software too. It does a great job.

Ahh i wondered where this thread had gone lol...I posted it in general, Then realised today that i should have put it in the misc section...Aye well...
