Hey everyone,
Wanted to post a drawing I did of Harley Quinn, the Joker's girlfriend/henchgirl from The Batman Animated Series. I've been watching all of those shows and the Justice League stuff lately and really admire the style they drew the characters in. I found this pose online, so it isn't mine. I redrew it larger and gave it some color and a simple background with whoopie cushion (thought the pose was perfect for it).

I know this is a non-foot drawing, but if I am able to pick up the pencil more (or in the case of this drawing, paint markers), I was thinking about doing some cartoon/comic characters with a barefoot theme. I know there were some drawings an artist did years ago with video game girls like Chun Li from Street Fighter II barefoot. And of course, we had those awesome cartoons that Foot Toons posted with the barefoot football gals too. I love his style and can't wait to see more of his work!

Here is mine, paint marker on canvas board (sorry about the glare from the sun, this was a quick photo).

VERY impressive work, patrick! You have captured the likeness of Harley Quinn

Whether or not the pose is yours you have appropriated it to make it your own! Once again outstanding job!

This is great. I often draw or paint on paper or canvas and then scan them in. I've been thinking about getting a quality graphic tablet to draw directly into a paint program - have experimented briefly with one of those $99 entry level ones. What are you preferred drawing and paint programs?

Well, I pretty much do them all by hand Ben. I have looked at the Wacom tablets. A friend of mine says go for the 8" x 6" one as you really don't need much more unless you're going to be using it all the time and doing some pretty big stuff. He likes that size too as it is easier to find desk space for. I have thought about getting one too, but so far I've kept mine to fine art.

Patrick

P.S. I'd think Photoshop would be all you'd need, but I know some people prefer things like Painter and such.

P.S.S. I started drawing again after finding this guy's work www.grantgould.com. I love his style.

Pretty good Pat. 'You' and 'Foot Toons' have given me a lil' inspiration to do a lil' bit of cartooning myself. I would like to do one for my favorite rugby team. I doodle alot but actually sitting down and doing it properly with added colours... no. So I guess I gotta start from scratch..... See how long I go before I get bored as I start alot of things with hype but end up ditching it within' a week..... see how I go...
